What games did you pre-order or by on launch day? Was it a good decision, or a waste of money?

Games I bought at launch include:

Mass Effect 2 (good decision)
Portal 2 (also a good decision)
Borderlands (Ehhh)


I have L.A. Noire pre-ordered.

Halo Reach. Great decision.
AVP. Excellent choice.
I plan to get Skyrim on release. I predict it to be an excellent choice.
I also plan to get PROTOTYPE 2 on release. Also, a prediction of good quality i present.

Metal Gear Solid 2,3,4

I even bought a Ps3 just to play 4 on release. Was completely worth it.

I'm not a devout mgs fan, but 4 was one of the best games i've played in a long time.

i think the last game i got on release would of been CoD4 and that was pretty worth it although i will probably pre-order Skyrim, Diablo 3 and maybe DoTA 2 because they are going to be pretty amazing.

Don't really remember which ones exactly, but i had Baldurs Gate 1&2 at release dates, Planescape, Diablo2, WoW, ME, DA, ME2, DA2, Portal2, DoW 1 & 2 + expansions, CoH + expansions, Witcher, and some others i don't really remember now. All were good choices, but i always do research before buying game plus genres i enjoy the most come so rarely that it's usually not a problem.

The only game I've EVER bought at launch so far is Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and I'm glad I did. I've just never been excited enough about any other new game, that I can't wait and see what kind of reviews it gets.

That said, I think I'll be getting Skyrim at launch. Because it's worth it.

Planning on getting Duke Nukem: Forever on launch. Won't preorder it though, a friend of mine did that last time it was supposedly going to get released back in 2007 or whenever it was and the usual happened. Also planning on Diablo III because of the fond memories of the second game while growing up

"launch"? You mean release day? Because when I hear "launch", I'm thinking of console launches. I haven't heard too many people refer to a game being released as a "launch".

If all you mean is "day of release", then lots of games.
