I think it was Resident Evil. I'm not sure though. All I remember is going to the arcade with my brother and seeing all of the zombies and having nightmares for a long times. I still can't handle games with the undead in them -_-"

Resident Evil. All of the first three really, but the original especially. Which isn't surprising really, since I was about eight when I would sit and watch my dad play it. It was just so freaky at the time. Especially the bit where the dogs jump through the windows, the bits with the spiders, and the Tyrant. Though the standard zombies were bad enough with their moaning and shuffling, especially with the creepy background music.

Now I love it and the two following sequels. I think they're the main reason I like zombies so much.

The Sewer level, oh god those monsters scared me. And then I had to fight one giant one while underwater.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica and AvP 2000. Both games I saw my father playing, tried myself and was completely terrified by. I don't think I coped with the original Half-Life all that well either. Or System Shock 2.

Now I find the first two laughable, HL1 a good (but not scary) game, and Shock 2 is still as scary as ever.

Sadly to say, it was Resident Evil. xD

I used to stand behind the couch and watch my cousin play it, and when a sccary part would happen I'd duck down behind the couch! haha

I live for horror now. :) Too bad they don't make any good horror games these days though.

It was my very first gaming experience. My dad sat me infront of Doom (on DOS) and a giant brain on cyborg spider legs startled me into a corner. It proceded to fire green shit at me and make loud robot noises until I fell with a bloodcurdling scream (my dad turned the volume to max), I proceeded to cry.

Doom 3 gave me the creeps too... so much dark.
For this, I can't decide on whether or not I love your father. x-D

So for me...scary games...where to begin?

I think the earliest game that frightened me had to be the last level of Super Mario 3 for the NES. It was dark, difficult, and the music was too dang freaky.

The next game that frightened me as a child was this weird driving-racing game my father had for his computer in the early-mid nineties. You would race people you met in diners in old cars, dodging police and occasionally falling off cliffs, where the windshield of the car would cover itself with blood. That scared the crap out of me as a kid.

Next would have to be Goldeneye for the N64. Somebody else mentioned it above, and I can definitely see why. I forget how old I was, but at that age the guards with the never changing flat faces and weird running style really freaked me out. I had to play the game with the invisibility cheat on all the time. x-D

Resident Evil 3 would be the next game that really frightened me. I have been fascinated and scared beyond belief of zombies for a long time, and RE3 exasperated it for me. It was the moaning. The damned moaning. I had to always play with the sound down so I didn't freak out. x_x

Hm... that's all I can think of right now. Honorable mentions go to Luigi's Mansion (Ghosts popping up out of nowhere) And the fact that Exploud makes when it faints in Pokemon Battle Revolution. Freaky stuff there in Poketopia. x-D

I am still scared of the crypts underneath karazhan, something disturbing about that place.

My first 3 gaming memories are being shot of a bridge into a foggy abyss in Goldeneye, screaming as masks warped to my face in Majora's Mask and in Ocarina of Time being head raped by re-deads *shudder* still haunts me to this day. So yeah.... I'm suprisingly still a gamer.

Tomb Raider 3, I think? Playing the actual game scared me so much... So I would just go around in the mansion.. Although, that freaky butler was also scary... Ergh.

Metroid Prime.

First pirate level.

Bricks were shat.
Good to see I'm not alone on this.
Not much scares me now, but remembering a few occasions, with estimated age:
The quoted part above me: Age: 14
Bottom of the Well in Ocarina of Time. Age: 8
Andross from Starfox 64. Age: 6
I was 9 at the time. Pretty scary then.
Now, it's just a bit creepy.

The Shadow Temple and the Sewers were pretty scary for me back when I played Ocarina of Time when I was a kid. There were other parts that were creepy (Forest Temple for instance), but those two I remember be pretty freaked out by.

I also remember getting the chills every time I was one K. Rool's ship in Donkey Kong 64. It was that music and the bats. It always unnerved me a bit.
