Half Life 2. I didn't think the game was that good at all. Nothing in the "plot" is explained at all, you are required to have played the first one to know wtf is going on.

probably modern warfare 1, i didn't play it for like a year till after it came out, picked it up for 20 bucks and loved it, but it still wasn't worth any of the hype it was given by some people..

besides that, fanboys have ruined about 90% of fps's and quite a few of valve's games for me, im sorry but alot of you scream at people with religion or religious type issues but you BY FAR are the worst cultist i have ever seen before when you talk about half life or portal, or valve in general.

Final Fantasy 6. I'm tired of people acting like it's some awesome experience, when it's really not all that special. The story telling wasn't groundbreaking (FF4 easily laid all the foundation for the detailed characters and arches), and you know what?, Kefka is lame. I seriously don't get the love for him. Maybe it's because I read Batman comics growing up, so a clown-painted lunatic wasn't something new or interesting to me. Sure, it's not bad, but I defy anyone to be 100% objective and claim it as the best Final Fantasy. Now remove all kind things and apply this to FF10 with a lot more hate. Then FF9 and FF8. In fact, I'm just going to say that outside of the first, the fouth, and the seventh, Final Fantasy is overrated. Oh, and I guess FF5 is regarded evenly, but only because it doesn't have much of a following.

I'll also add CoD: MW 2, any Halo beyond the first one, and pretty much every game you or I liked as a kid. Rose-colored glasses do not a good game make.

Although I generally hate these kinds of threads, because they're just conduits of complaining, the only game that ever sorta jaded me was Oblivion. I actually love it, just that a ton of half-finished playthroughs starts to be deterring.
