Half Life.

...I played it. It sucked...horribly. I wouldn't sell it to anyone for a nickel; I'd feel too guilty afterwards.

Uncharted got a loud fanbase...
Because for PS3 owners, it's the only really good MP exclusive they have.

Killzone 2 was pretty good, but the controls killed it for a lot of people.

This is a very late reply, but being in England means the time zone screws me over. So, sorry for being 4 pages or so late, I'll read through all the posts saying "Halo" and "Final Fantasy" later.

Popular games are popular for a reason.
Because they are marketed well.
That's a very cynical view to take.
It's also true, in most cases.
Games with good marketing but shitty everything else will result in people going "OH GOODIE!", buying, and then returning the game disappointed.

That doesn't qualify as popular. People aren't idiots who will play a game repeatedly just because they liked the trailer.

(as an aside, Chum is Fum)
Yeah, but if you make fantastic advertisements and show them a lot, then people get hyped and buy the game. If the game is bad, some will get rid, but some will defend he game as awesome because they don't like to admit they were wrong. If a game is average and very well hyped, it usually creates a huge fan base of people that will defend the game to the death (see Halo)
Perhaps some people are like this, but I think there's more to it than that. Primarily because some people have opinions different to your own - I've seen people erect metaphorical alters to Half-Life 2 and never got what all the fuss was about.

On these forums, most people defend Halo to death because it gets insulted so much, we feel a moral obligation, almost, to protect it from the unjust criticism it receives for being popular.

Portal.

I'm a Valve fanboy and I'm sick of hearing of it.

It wasn't that great in my opinion.
in my opinion it wasnt the hype for the game that got annoying, as much as it was everyone making the cake is a lie jokes over and over and over and over and over again

Every game that is not Baldur's Gate 1 or 2, Planescape: Torment, or a second-generation Paradox Interactive game (i.e. Hearts of Iron II, Crusader Kings, Victoria: An Empire under the Sun and, just maybe, Europa Universalis III).

Final Fantasy 7... just didn't like it like most people and I don't like to hear it praised when I've played better.
i agree. i think its a fantastic game and few games can stand the test of time, like it can. however, with all the crappy spinoffs and and the fanboys acting like the game descended from the heavens, im just tired of hearing about it

Any of the Final Fantasy games (played most of them, didn't like any of them too much.
Mass Effect. Both of them.
Call of Duty. All of them.
Halo. All of them. They're entertaining to play with friends now and then, but otherwise... No.
KOTOR. I don't like Star Wars. Sick of hearing how great the games are when I'm not even the slightest bit interested in the franchise as a whole.
Mario. Tired of the fat little fucker.
Sonic. See Mario.
MegaMan. See Sonic.
Warhammer. Online, 40k, DoW, doesn't matter. Hated every single one.
Yeah... All I can think of right now.
Here, Valukar! Take this flame shield! You're gonna need it...

Anything made by Valve, I find Gordon Freeman to be an extremely lame looking main character, Team Fortress to have a goofy art style, and Left 4 Dead to have stole the thunder when it was Resident Evil: Outbreak that brought the rain.

Anything made by Team Ico, since their two best games are pretty much just a giant escort mission (Ico), and a boss rush mode(Shadow of the Colossus).

Starcraft 2 had tons of money and I'd say starcraft 2 was better than all the halo's combined.
I'm totally fine with your opinion on Halo, I just totally disagree.
I just don't understand how you can compare a PC-only RTS with a FPS Shooter series.
Starcraft 2 may be amazing, I have yet to play it, I just don't think it's possible to compare the two.
Im just comparing the amount of enjoyment I got out of them each. Personally playing Halo single player feels like im kinda wasting my time, bland and dull. I only do it for "content sightseeing". Playing it multiplayer is like that time I nearly lost my big toe by getting it caught in a bike chain when I was a kid... unenjoyable.

GTA. Every single freaking review site gave it a 10. It's an 8.5 to a 9 for me. Its a great game, don't get me wrong, but there are a lot of things that drive me nuts.

"Niko its your cousin, how about we get a drink." SHUT THE HELL UP ROMAN I DON'T WANT TO GO BOWLING!

I couldn't even understand what the hell Little Jacob is saying with subtitles.

"Yo rude boy, me rasta gaba man yo gimme i and I." Alright.

I decide that I should save Dwayne instead of Playboy X and now he calls every five minutes and if you don't hang out he wants to kill himself. Jeez.

Also too many driving ***** missions, like Mafia 2. And no checkpoint system.

I like how every second post in this thread is made by people who seem to think that this is another "Yay, my turn to go on about how I HATE a certain game that everybody else likes". This thread is suppose to be about games you think are great, but are just tired of hearing about.

And I can't think of a single title, because I apparently have this amazing ability where I can recognize, usually within the first few words, what a post is going to be about, and then make the decision to not fucking read it. If you don't want to hear about how great "x" is, then just don't read reviews or posts relating to that game. Seriously, this whole thread is just a continuous series of people whining needlessly.

Pretty much any popular game.

But mostly TEAM fucking FORTRESS 2!

My friend will not stop going on about it. He's played over 600 hours of it. Personally, I dislike it muchly. It's dull and kind of empty gameplay wise. It's a cartoony Counter-Strike.

But most of all, I'm sick of people telling me how much they think Halo and CoD are overated. WE GET IT ALREADY! I WAS DISAPPOINTED TOO! EVERYONE WAS DISAPPOINTED! And yet you're all still buying the next fucking sequel so quit your bitching because it's your own goddamn faults that you have to endure it!

For the record, I'll be buying it too. Because I like it and doubt Black Ops will be the disappointment MW2 was.

Bioshock. I own the game but I just don't like it. In fact, it seems quite crappy to me. Great artwork? Wow that's great, I guess I can just look through some screenshots in that case.

hitman: blood money

kane and lynch 2: dog days (that game deserves to be purified in the fires of hell and never spoken of again)

People say good things about the Kane and Lynch games? I was under the impression they were mostly hated games with a cult following.
