Games you're tired of hearing praise for?

Will you guys (that's not you Escapists by the way, I'm using "you" as a generic term) just shut up about every single one of Valve's games for ONE FUCKING MINUTE? Seriously, there are people who practically worship Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2. I'm getting sick of hearing about how awesome they are.

I'm also sick and tired of hearing about how terrible FFXIII is. And I don't even know the first thing about the game, other than that it was made by Japanese people and so is probably a little odd by our standards.

I LOVE final fantasy games. Played thorugh 7 like 3 times, beat all the weapons unlocked all materia, got everyones ultimate weapon, even went back to get Aeriths limit break b4 she dies.Also played 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11(for a short bit), and 12. All good games. XIII...was dissapointing I still haven't finished it because I refuse to play through that whole thing when I don't even care about what's going on or the characters, and it's not to say I didn't give it a chance, I'm sitting on the third disc at chapter 11, sure FFXII tis not horrible, but it is incredibly dissapointing knowing what Square Enix HAS pumped out before...oh well..I blame loss of talented designers.

On topic: Call of duty MW:2 Halo 3. Reach > Halo 3. Call of Duty MW2 is fun for about a month, great campaign though.

Portal or Half-Life. In my opinion both were mediocre games which were too boring to complete, regardless of the fact that both are apparently rather short. Never been much of a fan of Valve myself though, so maybe I was somewhat bias going into playing them.

Half Life 2. Mother f**king Half Life 2. I don't care if it held up for a few years or if Gordon Freeman is the king of the nerds who happen to be badass. I considered playing it but then I noticed how much unrelenting praise and over all c**k sucking it gets.

I'm not afraid to say that this community is one of the worst about it. I mean any time someone mentioned Half Life in this thread, someone would throw in that they were just playing it right or that they should have waited until it got good. (apologies for the language)

*The Elder Scrolls Series
*Everything in The Orange Box (especially Portal, but also Team Fortress 2)
*Fallout 3 and all of its DLC packs
*Assassin's Creed 2 (I was a fan of it, sure, but I only ever gave it one playthrough)
*The KOTOR series
*Anything and everything under the Tom Clancy label
*Street Fighter IV, but also Tekken 6
*The Halo series (oh ye GODS, the Halo series!!)
*Every Final Fantasy title since FF6
*The Pokemon Series

...Really, most of the most popular games and series of the last decade have earned my ire. A lot of it is because I tire of playing a game quickly (one playthrough is about all I can handle at any given time). The rabid fanboyism surrounding some of the titles just hastens the process.

I honestly think the number of people here who like HL2 are absolutely DWARFED by the number of people complaining about how everyone seems to love HL2. It really is amazing.

My personal opinion is, Halflife 2 is a great game. One of the first physics based games that actually allows physics to be used to you advantage. That being said its not the best. Dont turn it into Halo, please.

That leads me into my next topic, Halo. All of them.
Im not going to say the shittiest games ever, but they are wholly undeserving of the praise they get. Their lucky. They got a lucky break on a system that first introduced playable multiplayer and they were front stage. It was playable, but not fantastic. As far as being one of the best games ever, I feel like the only sane man in a sea of people who have consumed the tainted kool-aid. Its shit compared to other games, not the other way around. They have gotten better over the time, but thats only due to the fact the dev team now has BOATLOADS of cash to spend on it. Starcraft 2 had tons of money and I'd say starcraft 2 was better than all the halo's combined.

Well I suppose that's inevitable in a game series that's gone on for so long - eventually the talented people who made it what it was will quit.

There was something else I noticed on this thread. Does it not strike you as hilariously ironic that loads and loads of people are going for Halo, Modern Warfare and Pokemon etc.? I swear they get hated on loads in these forums, and these posts basically prove that.

I'd like to add in another series.

The Final fantasy series. All of them. Every stinking one. Pick one, I'm tired of hearing about it.

They were awesome around 10+ years ago. It hit its pinnacle with FF7.

FF7 was a good game. I enjoyed it.

What I'm sick of is hearing about how "They should remake Final Fantasy 7, because it would be so awesome!!1!". Just stop it. This game was out over a decade ago. A remake isn't going to make it better, it's going to tarnish your childhood memories with the truth. It truly wasn't that great by today's standards.

And I don't care about how this other FF game was better than FF7. I really don't. Every last one since FF7 has tried to recapture what they did. And I'm sick of the re-re-re-releases of the pre-FF7 games. They were not that great originally, I doubt they'll be better on a next-gen system.

It's time to switch to a new music station, because this tune has gotten rather old.

Half-life 2.... Fucking hell, leave it. I thought it was... average. Playable. At rare times, enjoyable, but I hated it so much that I gave up half way through.

TF2. I thought it was utterly shit. No little tutorials, just shoves you into it, and I got one kill and 14 deaths in that match. No idea what the fuck was going on.

I'm not tired of hearing any other praise for any other games really.
I would say Dragon Age because I hate it, but I've never seen that much praise for it.

I don't tire of Portal's praise; I loved it.
I do really tire of the Cake is a Lie jokes.
Mainly because it wasn't even a fucking lie. It's in the credits, complete with a candle.
And it's just such a shit reference. It's not a quote, like "May the Force be With You", just a phrase.
A terrible one at that.

It's the opposite with MW2 for me, I'm tired of hearing the hate about it.
Campaign was great and fun, and Multiplayer is amazing if, on the very rare occasion you get a game with no Noob-tubers or Dick-scopers.
