Fucking "Get Some Grub" in HL2:e2. I WILL KILL YOU! Honestly, I always come within three of the fuckers. Each time I realise that there will be no more and I have once again failed I kill a small child.

Also some of the medals in BF2 took a ridiculous amount of time to achieve. Like the only ones who have them literally dedicated their lives to BF2.

Collecting all the feathers in Assassin's Creed 2. No skill is involved, just the ability to complete a totally pointless and boring task with very little reward. Same with the flags in AC1. Who has the time?

I Am Bad Company is all the more near-impossible due to some of the necessary requirements being glitched, as my brother has learned. for example the Combat Aviator Patch (Bronze, Silver and Gold) require you to kill two enemy helicopters in helicopter combat in a round, as well as already have a certain number of Aviator Trophies. now the glitched part of this is apparently when you kill two enemy helos, YOU have to be 100% responsible for the kill, if a teammate does any kind of damage to it, it doesn't count. i've seen my bro chew through no less than four enemy helicopters in a single battle, and get robbed.

i've looked around about this and it seems that even if you somehow manage to earn every last trophy, patch and wildcard the achievement has the potential to not unlock and the only way around it is to contact EA and request it. talk about getting screwed bigtime after all the punishing grind you don't even get the lousy 25G its worth.

Officially, it is on Left 4 Dead. Something like 2.5% of people have actually done it.
It's complete (any scenario [I think]) without any survivors taking any damage.
My friend got a Guiness World Records 2010 Gamers Edition. Obviously it's slightly out of date, but that does sound fucked up.

There's a Napoleon Total War achievement where you declare war on every other nation in Europe on the first turn, never make peace, and end up winning.

I can't imagine doing that on the top difficulty settings...
So the only difference is that you declare all the wars instead of letting the AI do it in the transition between turn 1 and 2?

Hardest, any achievement that means you have to play online when no one else is online. Pretty much wasted my money on Section 8.

Yup, the 7 Days achievement in Dead Rising is hard as hell (as are a lot of the achievements in that damn game), not only that, it nets a PALTRY 20G!
If you found that hard to beat, you're doing it wrong. Walkthroughs apparently abound on the web, but I got it on my first playthrough without a guide. The point is to not fight zombies - you're supposed to simply hide in a corner, reading a book IRL, and chomping down on a steak every few hours.

The hardest achievement I've seen is quite possibly I Am Bad Company in Battlefield: Bad Company. As someone mentioned earlier, that requires some truly ridiculous feats. Like getting 5 artillery kills in one round, repeatedly, or getting 20 headshots in one round.

Honourable Mention: Soul Calibur 4 has an achievement to get a single Soul Crush kill, and an achievement for getting 100. I have yet to perform a single Soul Crush, because it's a stupid move that you only ever set up against a stupid opponent as a way of mockingly showing how much you own them. The AI's never set themselves up for it, so you need to play online to get it.
Bollocks to that, I'd rather just play the damn game.

As for the Soul Crush moves in Soul Calibur, they, they were bull. I thought getting Astral Heat finishes in BlazBlue was an opportunistic move, but the Soul Crush moves were just ridiculous.

I got that one within an hour using a guide. It was fairly easy, provided you want the achievements.

The achievement that is literally the hardest (or at least lengthiest) achievement ever was mentioned in the Guiness World Records.
The one on FFXI where you have to get all classes to the maximum levels, which takes decades apparently.

Mile High Club is the one that comes to mind. Takes practice a bit of and memorising key parts.
