Has anyone noticed that Adam Sandler does and is the same thing in all his movies?

Yes, as do Jim Carey & Robin Williams. If you've seen one of their movies, you've seen all of them.
what about 23 by Jim Carey that movie wasnt funny... or least it tried not to be funny.
He did that movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which I personally thought was brilliant. It's completely different from anything else he's done. Really off beat. Reminded me of Donnie Darko in a lot of ways. Same vein anyway.

It starts as a kind of quirky romantic film and then it becomes...something else. Look it up, it's really worth a look.

Here is a list of of the stuff he does and is in his movies:
- Hes lovable
- He is always the good guy
- Hes funny
- Hes always and I mean ALWAYS hurting someone in ALL of his movies (seriously at a while it gets REALLY tiring to see him sucker punch every guy thats looks at him funny)
- He ALWAYS wins ( except in Funny People)
- There is a romance in ALL the movies.
- The bad guy is usually ganged up on and locked up somewhere while Adam makes out
He is the same person in every single movie, each of them just gets chased out of the country and changes names.

Same as Hugh Grant and (somewhat) Tom Cruise, they just play the same person in every single film they're in.
Same as Will Ferrell in just about everything he's done, except maybe Elf and Stranger Than Fiction.

Yeah, I dislike actors that play themselves. It's not really acting... that's not to say all his films are terrible because of this (although...) but... you get what I mean.

Yes, I have noticed it as well and that is why I don't really approve any of his films. They're all the same, plotwise.

Tom Cruise in Risky Business and Tom Cruise in that WWII movie? Not even somewhat the same between the two.

[sub]Jim Carey, obviously.[/sub]
Saw the Truman Show, & a knockbuster imitation of it, but never heard of the others.
It's one movie and watch it now. Now! Do it! DOO EET!
The Truman Show has got to be his best film, and one of my favourite films. Give Carey some credit, he's not as bad at serious acting as some apparently serious actors and at least his funny films were funny. Well, some of them.

To counter sandler's really negative status with most movie snobs it should be realized that he is AN ACTOR. Say what you will about actor's integrity but most ACTORS are out there to make money. Sandler, far from the character he often portrays in movies, is noot a stupid or simple man. He just found a niche and ran with it. Most actors who are a 'name' in hollywood have a signature style and his just happens to be in movies aimed at manchildren. But of those movies specifically aimed at younger men, his movies are the best. Why doesn't sandler do more serious roles? brcause it wouldn't make him as much money playing to he cliches that are his style. Any of his critical successes (Punch drunk love, Reign over me, Spanglish) have been flops in the box office. He has an audience knows what they want and gives it to them.

Yup, he also always gets Andy Dick and/or Rob Schnider in his films as secondary roll or extras and they do it as well for the others.

Spanglish was an exception but a think it wasnt an Adam Sandler movie but a movie in wich he got in.

Typecasting, you say?

Ditto Dolph Lundgren, Steven Seagal, Jason Statham, Chris Tucker, and in their N.Am releases, Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Chow Yun Fat.

I'm not saying there's any reason that they don't do well in their type-cast roles (mostly), but sometimes, some variety would be nice. For all that I don't really have much use for Dwayne Johnson movies, he's at least grown as an actor, going from a grunting Egyptian demon-critter to a juvenile-rom-com phenom. His movies still largely suck, but at least Walking Tall was better than that John Cena abortion, The Marine.

I have to admit, I thought I was the only one who realsised this...
That's why I no longer watch most of his new releases... I just can't stand his style of acting, mumbling his words etc.

Watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind then decide what is his best film.

But yeah, he's OK.

1, 3, and 7 with Drunk-Punch Love

So HA!
That is one of the worst movies I've seen. Magnolia and There Will Be Blood by Paul Thomas Anderson are million times better and those are the reason I even watched that.

I do not like Adam Sandler. He was alright on Funny People though.

OT: Actors like him can pick their roles. You could do such a list about many different actors.
