Honestly everything on this site is rubbish except for ZP, MovieBob (only when he doesn't try to be funny) and the occasional Unskippable. Rebecca Mayes, GameDogs, Apocalypse Now, There Will Be Brawl are all fucking atrocious. There's no other way to say it.

So everything on this site is rubbish except everything on this site? Ok. Read the articles, they can be very interesting.

Zero Punctuation has run its course if you watch it for entertainment; there's only so much you can do with the style before it gets samey. To those of us who watch it because he's the only critic with any kind of sense who doesn't tolerate stupid bullshit games, it's still going strong.

I think it's over and done with. It's not that it's not funny, but I haven't seen anything really original in it in a long time. Maybe Yahtzee just needs to change up his fomula a bit.

Controversial I know.

Anyway I was thinking (surprising right?) that I don't actually find the new ZP's that funny. Maybe it's just me, or the 'shock' has worn off but I think it's because they're all a bit samey. Apart from a few such as the Wolfenstein review which were pretty special, the new ones seem to be...

'I was playing this game... (insert obscure expletive)... (insult developer)... (make a cock joke)...

...and I'm not really finding it funny any more. My thought is that it should do what The Office did and stop now before it gets worse.

Or am I completely wrong?

(Normal rules apply about respecting opinions and being nice blah-de-blah blah)
This thread has only 4 possible responses:

Response #1: "Well I can understand that some may seem Yahtzee becoming stale in his videos, but for all the few well-known game critics out there that have an influence on game designers (who watch his show by the way), he is a positive force speaking the minds of the majority of gamers. Sure it may feel boring sometimes, but it's influence is strong." -SkullCap-

Response #2: "F*CK YOU! ZERO PUNCTUATION 4 EVAR!!!!!! YAHZEE FTW!!!"

Response #3: "I'm so sick of that guys accent. I think he's run its course. Not funny."

Response #4: What's "Zero Punctuation?"

to each is own blah de blo

in my opinion ZP is still a great thing and should still rock out on this website most of the reasons I would put foreward have already been stated so I'm going to avoid the broken record theory and just leave it at that.

It was beginning to get stale, but the stuff he's put out recently (past month or so) has been pretty good.

I missed how the earlier stuff was written from a review perspective as opposed to an angry rant. In later reviews, it seemed like Yahtzee was becoming less of a character and more of a caricature (like Maddox), almost as if he was caving into people's expectations of how his reviews should be.

I also liked how deadpan and nonchalant his tone used to be, it was very British.

Anyway, I don't think ZP has run its course. I'll continue to watch, as it is the highlight of my Wednesday afternoon.

So, I guess Response #2?

I still find it funny, in fact it's the highlight of my Wednesday. If you don't find it funny then I won't hold it against you everyone has different ideas as to what's funny.

i dunno, once you get over the 'controversy' of what he says you appreciate the points that he actually makes about the games. They aren't as funny, but they are more informative.
plus, he's paid to write what he thinks about games, not give shitty games a good review (kane & lynch x IGN lol)

I'd say it hasn't run its course yet. It's kinda like the ratings report in the Howard Stern movie. Everyone who loves him or hates him continues to listen. Because they want to hear what he says next.
So as long as you haters keep watching Zero Punctuation, he's gonna have the upper hand, and continue providing us with "insert your positive or negative adjectives here" reviews.
Sounds to me like he's winning.

[Insert never to be read comment on page 7 here]

OT: You are wrong and should be punched. New Yahtzee is actually better than old Yahtzee because now you can tell he's actually into it. His early reviews are just him sounding uninterested as he spoke somewhat swiftly in a piss-poor mic. Just because he's now well characterized and famous doesn't mean he's no longer cool.

If you don't like him, fine, you can make like a JRPG and suck somewhere far away from him.
