I want to say the healing system in Armed & Dangerous. Exteremely steriotyped[sp?] (why is it that american game developers never seem to realise that these games will come out in other countries), but apparently drinking a cup of tea will heal you.

"Mum, stick thr kettle on will you, I'm suffering from massive internal hemorraging..."

People, people, you have forgotten something about all these games you play. I have discovered the existence of a seperate dimension, whereupon these games take place in actual reality, where healing methods like the ones mentioned are in fact entirely logical and unquestioned.

What fools we have been, forgetting all about this dimension!

Croching in Shadow of the Colossus makes you recover faster. As if magicly recovering health wasn't already wierd enough.

Resi 5 - spraying yourself with deodorant heals all wounds.

Also any game that thinks food=health. At least in MGS3 eating something would replenish stamina, not health.
Actually, now I think about it MGS3's healing system worked pretty well. Healing Radio notwithstanding.
Yes, becuase military rations will heal and type of injury

Getting healed by paladins in Diablo 2

You get shot by a big ball of light
Better yet, a paladin that's praying while meditating heals you very quick. See? prayer heals!

The way you regenerate health in World of Warcraft, i just dont see how even the most horrific of injuries can be healed by sitting down and eating some bread for around 20 seconds, even stranger is mana regeneration how do you make a link between hurling bolts of Fire, Ice and lightning and drinking water?

In fallout 3 even if every single bone in your body is broken you can simply pump stimpacks into yourself and carry on fighting, THE GOOD FIGHT, folks.

Actually, in MGS3 they don't - contrary to the rest of the series. MGS4 went back to the wonderful "alleviating hunger alleviates pain" thing.

I don't know if this is an answer, but I found your way of healing people in infamous rather funny... I mean, he founds someone screaming in pain in the street, and the best think he can think of is an electric shock to the heart?

But, then again, in that game you capture criminal with electric handcuffs...

We've all seen it, games where you in some weird way regenerate health, but which is the weirdest of the weirdest? I thought the one in Battlefield: Bad Company was pretty interesting. You get your full health back by injecting some sort of syringe or something right into your heart.
I got a buddy in the Army who kind of explained that one to me. The thing he injects into himself does exist. It's basically morphine-like chemicals that you inject into yourself that numbs the pain and makes you feel better.

It's not that I don't understand the health mechanics, per se - it's an artificial environment with artificial means to heal yourself, so what?

Still... how about Max Payne's tanking up on painkillers to restore himself. Give that a shot in real life, and it's called "suicide by overdose."

I was always confused why getting shot with a Sniper rifle in Red Steel could be healed by sitting behind a desk for a few seconds.

Regenerating health makes sense in Halo, but doesn't really anywhere else.

That's not weird: being shot and attacked decreases the overall biomass of Mercer. By consuming other biomass, it replenishes his own allowing him to lose even more biomass...

Actually, it is weird, but understandable.

Yes, cause anybody can survive a bullet through the brain, as long as they're not feeling it. "Oh look, he cut off my legs, but it's okay, I can still walk by using the sheer power of mind." ;P Just kidding, but games will always have lingering feeling of unrealism to it. Like they're the Black Knight from the Holy Grail.
"Eh, it's just a flesh wound."
