Watched the whole thing. Eh, not the most disgusted I've ever been. Yeah, if this actually occurs(which I personally believe can't be confirmed, as this video was provided by peta) it needs to be stopped. Torturing the animal is just too much. Kill it clean and then take the fur if you must. Live skinning is just despicable.

Really though, It's China we are dealing with. You are more likely to be struck by lightning than to get them to stop doing anything by force. Now, a free market response like "Don't buy fur you fucking sicko," would be pretty effective. Less buyers, less animals tortured to die.

1) This is PETA
2) Animals are not human, they do not have the same though process and mental development that we do. With that said yes the video is disgusting and does show the severe sociopathic traits of the skinners.
3) This is one video from one source on the internet that's on a planet with a population >6 billion people. These actions while lamentable will always happen and do not need to be put on display as some gaudy rally point. Those who wish to enact a change will do find others with there same goals and do not need this to remind them because THEY ALREADY KNOW.
Even people who want to stop this sort of thing need to get their information from somewhere. They don't just come out of the womb with a complete knowledge of all the injustices over the world, and for that reason I posted this. If one person gets something from this and goes out in some way to stop this sort of thing, then mission accomplished on my part, don't be so cynical.

Eating animals is one thing, skinning them alive is something entirely different.
I eat animals too, but I don't want the animal I'm eating to have suffered too much on the way to my plate.

As soon as I saw that the OP had linked to a PETA video I lost any and all interest in this, namely because there's a very good chance that the skinners were infact PETA members themselves. Or that they payed the skinners to skin the animal(s? haven't actually watched the video) alive, either way it wouldn't be the first time PETA did something like this.
Ever see the Penn and Teller episode on PETA?

They scare me pretty bad :p.

I also don't believe Global warming is real and that your mother had sex with your father more than once, just so you can assassinate my character with abit more accuracy.
The worst part here is I don't know if you are fucking with me or not ;).

Because I know people who really don't believe in Global Warming but then I don't know people who really believe that parents haven't had sex more than once.

Mainly because I'm sure there were a few failed attempts ;).
I brought you a cookie, it has chocolate chips and several shards of depleted uranium shaped like a point, because you fucking missed it.

Noob.
Should I provide you with an address or should I just assume that you'll be mailing them to the nearest person who reminds you of me?

I could probably pay off my college with that uranium. :) Just a thought.
This is the stereotypical response, deny the point or deny the pointer, I don't mind people being ignorant, but atleast try to identify with my points.

Also, Global warming: The fear. Good luck proving it.
So basically you are so conceded that you think that ;) means "OMG I take you srs!"

You aren't as clever as you might think (at least I know I'm not that clever).

I find it funny that you were talking about character defamation and all you appear to be trying to do is that.

There are tons of things with my level of understanding that I can't prove, like how the sun works, or the chemical reactions of your stomach, the lower level activities of the human brain, migratory patterns of birds.

However in the case of most of these, it isn't necessarily about proving them as much as examining the harm in assuming that they are true things that actually happen.

What would come of renewable energy sources (of which we have plenty, environmentalist drama aside we have extremely well thought out nuclear power options)? Where exactly is the harm in not using oil or coal (outside of a few areas where it really is the only viable option that I can think of)?

I just find it odd that people would assume that there is absolutely no negative side effects to releasing far higher levels of emissions in various gasses than the earth is used to. I am 100% certain the earth will survive, I highly doubt we'll cause a Venus effect. But in the long run I'm pretty sure that a bunch of pretentious ass hats are going to ***** and moan until there really is no going back at least for life as we know it.

Lots of shit that we eat is not as hardy as we are (adaptability wise, since we have technology to 'cheat' with).

But regardless. I'll leave it here. You are demanding a science paper on a video game forum after being a prick which doesn't exactly promote a deep educated response. Which might be your strategy. If so I commend you on mission successful.

And besides, in a world where people will sooner vote to give chickens more space before letting gay people marry (see California), stuff like this seems really small. People do care more about animal equality than people equality, at least here on the U.S. West Coast.
I actually consider not being skinned alive and having enough space to turn around more of a right than something votable. I'm no on prop 8, but at least they aren't skinning gay people alive. And I'm also a bit confused about how your post is relevant to the topic.

I also don't get why everyone is disregarding it because it is made by PETA. I don't think PETA's history as a corrupt organization makes this any less wrong and I still think we should take actions to deal with it. Maybe PETA did stage it, but then let's just deal with them. It's obviously real, and I think whoever's doing it should be stopped immediately.

When he was beating it out like a rug I laughed, hard. When he started skinning it I turned it off, because it was boring.

On topic: I suppose it's cost efficient to do it this way, and a better product would increase profit margins.

Can't say I feel disgusted though.
Well don't worry, this thread was targeted at people with some resemblance of a heart. You're obviously not in that demographic. But seriously what is wrong with you? To not feel anything for that I count as despicable, but to enjoy it? There's something wrong with you on a deep level, and I'm not trying to flame you, I just really think you have a problem

They were just trying to come off as an asshole. Most threads like this garner those responses. It is almost its own internet meme.

That is one of the most thoroughly revolting and ugly things I have ever, ever seen.
How can these people fucking live with themselves?

This doesn't make sense. Skinning an animal is hard enough without having it squirm, if the animal is alive it's next to impossible

You would not be the first to either think or say such things of me. That said;

How'd you not find the beating it out part funny? I promise you it looks exactly like a rug right there right down to the way it flows, dust falling off it in clouds.

I'm not even going to get into the giant argument arena that this thread has become. Yes there's bigger issues to worry about, yes this is the natural circle of life, and yes PETA is as trustworthy as a politician.

But, holy fucking shit man. By the end of the video I was crying and gagging at the same time. I don't care if it's fake, that was worse than 2 Girls 1 Cup. I am sickened to my core, regardless of the fact that it's from Lets-Draw-Attention-By-Being-Fucking-Retards PETA.

Just... holy shit.

I'm not big on animal rights, but that was just sick. I mean on the one he actually just pulled all of his skin of, with his bare hands. It was only flesh before he finally got into to much pain, and died. Thats over the line, completely 100% sick in all words.

I'm sorry, I wanted you to actually 'prove' global warming, instead of propagating the half-cocked ideal of 'global warming'. Sure, I can provide the world has experienced a warming moment. Like I could prove that the world has experienced a 'pro-homosexual' moment. The fact that its bullshit is not considered academic. Because it disagrees with the political bullshit of the day.

They make psychiatrists get psychoanalysed before they get certified, but they don't flay a skinner, to know what kind of pain they're dealing with. Does that seem right to you?

Ahhh innocence it's such wonderful thing. I wasn't trying stating that people are so quickly endowed with knowledge of the many problems that occur (though many teenages believe they are bulletproof and all-knowing). There is also a difference between cycinism and general intolerance from hearing the same shit from a new source. So in this case I guess you could you should say "don't be so ornery".

P.S. I'm far more concerned about helping out my fellow man.

I have all ready seen that. Animals die in all kinds of horrible ways all the time. Imagine being eaten alive. That is what happens in the wild all the time. Sure it is bad, but I habe more pressing matters to care about.
