Sometimes I fantasize about dispensing some justice on monsters/villains using good ol' fisticuffs and an ability to endure ungodly amounts of pain. Sometimes I fantasize that I am the Painkiller. And on the more realistic side, I sometimes fantasize about having a girlfriend (okay, maybe not that realistic) with whom I go running, or hiking, or training in martial arts, and other fun physical stuff that's best enjoyed with at least one other person (besides sex)

Yup. I do it all the time. Usually with me, being a knight in shining armor, saving whoever I happen to have a crush on at the time, from giant monstrous robot dragons. With my bare hands.

And alot more.

At eighteen, I lay in bed for hours conjuring up all kinds of interesting scenarios and forming them into writable stories, movies, games, and the like. I think it's the sign of a healthy drive and imagination.

It was going ok until you mentioned you're 15. Then that's freakish. But then again many writers and filmmakers also had wild imaginations.

I also had a huge imagination when I was a wee one. I also fantasized about anything.

I fantasize whenever I am bored which is about 85% of the day. Most of the time my fantasies involve me inserting myself into a different story and imagining how my presence changes the story. When i'm being realistic I usually end up being killed pretty quickly.

I remember way back when I was about 9-11 years old and I had a little trouble falling asleep, I would stand out of my bed and get a prop, then I would pretend a plot that lasted for HOURS and the whole thing revolved around that one prop, whether it be a wrist band or a sword or whatever, it was great, I still day dream a lot, but I never act it out anymore, awesome times.

Yup, all the time actually. But it's more like thinking, not fantasize, as I have alexithymia and cannot really fantasize much, but when I do they use a great deal of logic, a symptom of alexithymia.

And no, the thread title has nothing to do with masturbation, you sick person. On to the thread:
Ever since I was a wee lad I have always had a vivid imagination, I would run around in the sun and pretend I was a swordsmen killing whatever I wanted, or a superhero, or whatever, I went from necromancy to being a king. I was able to concoct surprisingly deep stories, wether the bad guy was an orc named phil who had a nephew who dabbled in black magic and turned human and ended up becoming a druid in the name of justi- You get the idea. Point is I would always escape into fantasy land whenever I had nothing to do, probably like most kids, maybe.

Then I turned 10, and would jump from couch to couch swinging a pretend sword being a pirate.
Then 13, laying in my bed imagining to be a knight rescuing princesses from orcs and undead.
Now 15, I STILL DO THIS. I still from time to time just randomly am able to dream up a story and will spend hours just explaining important backstory of the world to myself and the heroes in it and everything. And I'm starting to worry myself that I'm the only person that does this. So I have to ask you, the escapists, do you ever escape without the use of videogames?
if you occasionally do it without noticing you are and have to get "woken up"
then ask your parents if you hated physical contact when you were a toddler.
if so then you probably were autistic like me. occasionally autistic kids will get broken out of their shell before they are diagnosed.
the only differences between ex-autistics and regular kids is that every know and then you will go back to that place in your head without noticing and entire stories can get played out if you have free time and few distractions

I'm fantasizing that everyone posting in this thread looks like Jessica Alba.

Ooop, now you're all naked.

;-) (I'm sorry, but someone had to take it there).

Of course. Up until I was around 12 I pretended to be anything from a samurai to a pirate to a Roman soldier. I think it sucks that I think I'm too old for that kind of stuff now. Now I just fantasize about falling in love with girls (and no I don't mean anything sexual).

sadly i also have this problem and its starting to become a little scary with the ease with which i can imagine myself in situations usually while drooling onto the shoulder of the person next to me.
I'm seriously thinking i might be on my way to becoming the master of reader insert fiction, i read a book and half way in i can place my self in it (usually with superpowers up the arse), and still have no effect on the plot, i just make what ever i am reading allot better.

Well from my point of view.

HOLY SHIT is that a chibi Xenomorph? By Jove, that's adorable!

Oh, and I make a living writing the stories that I come up with.
