OT: I have a number of heavy rocks near my bed, some, a baseball bat just across from it, and there's usually a few bottles lying around.

I live with some friends who are into reinactment, our flat is full of replica 'live steel' weapons. I could step out of my room and be armed with anything from a spear to a sword and also have access to some chainmail for armour. Anyone breaking in will come face to face with a lot of metal, very quickly and although its not sharpened, these weapons can bruise and batter and easily break limbs when used with force.

A nice big 4 ft crow-bar and a katana with a wooden sheath. (Irish law says if I hit someone with the sword its assault with a deadly weapon, whereas with the crow-bar or the sheath its just assault, so the blade itself is just a distraction.)

Nothing where I live now but at my parents house they keep a huge machete next to their bed.
Also my step-dad is a professinal golfer so we have over 80 clubs sitting around the house. The sand wedge works nicely. It's got a really nice sharp angle to it
