I didn't love the thing but I don't begrudge anyone who did. I think it was a piece of peanut butter flavored ejaculate but hey it's your call.

Yeah you heard me.

I've seen some dislike on the mako, and it confuses me. It's pretty easy to use, it has weapons, it has booster jets on the bottom (I've dodged many a rocket thanks to those.) and all in all, with some exceptions to corners and backing up into objects with negative slopes, I've never had a problem.

So I guess I'm asking you guys, "Why did you dislike/like the Mako"

[sub]In case you can't tell, the Mako is the car in Mass Effect 1, from which they sadly got rid of in Mass Effect 2.[/sub]

[HEADING=1]ALSO! PLEASE NOTE![/HEADING]

For everyone that's asking, the Mako is replaced by a scanning minigame, and then a "Coordinate" is found, from which a shuttle launches from the ship and flies down. From which you then explore on foot.

Essentially killing the open world areas you could explore.
they're replacing it with a free (if you bought it new) DLC shuttle. So if you like the Mako, you can use the shuttle, and if you don't, you can choose not to use it.
Huh... odd...

The wiki said something along the lines that you were just sort of dropped into a spot and you walk from there.

Can I get a source (if you have it of course, if not don't worry. I just want to read more about it.)
http://www.r3start.com/mass-effect-2-dlc-pack-introduces-the-hammerhead/

that's one

it's not an official link, but there's been plenty of talk about it, it's called the Hammerhead Hovertank. Casey Hudson talked about it as well.

EDIT: as you seem to be going by Wikia information, here's the short Wikia stub about the Hammerhead

Shoot. This is neither about the shark, nor the beloved actor.

I realize you put it in the OP, but not having something incredibly specific that uses general language listed in the title is kind of misleading.
Dare I say... It's a trap?
[sub] Just a note, I'm laughing at the num nuts who are saying "Isn't it Mako (Actor)"

I clearly said in the title I Love the Mako. The, "The" makes all the difference in the world. [/sub]
Everyone knows that they're gay for bridget.

Oh, I knew about the Hammer head I. I thought it'd be used for something else, but thanks that clears up my curiosity.

I quite enjoyed it. Of course I swapped to the 360 controller to drive it then back to mouse to shoot shit but yeah. Trying to control it with mouse and keyboard was fucking annoying.
Really?

I saw alot of dislike due to the controls for the 360 controller. I had no problems with the M&KB combo.

That being said I never played it on the 360 so I don't really know for sure.

I loved it, too. It felt like actually piloting some bizarre, futuristic lunar rover. Sure, the turning was a bit wonky, but once you learned it, it became second nature.

Yes because both these posts were so valuable and informative to the discussion at large. No wait they were the other thing. The opposite. You know, wastes of good bandwidth.

Anyway I found the Mako was tolerable in the 360 version but much easier to handle in the PC version of Mass Effect. I never outright hated it though. The only parts of the Mako sections that annoyed me were when a Thresher Maw would just HAPPEN to pop up right under you and kill you in one hit even if you were doing your best to avoid such a thing from happening, but that wasn't very often.

As to the Hammerhead? ...Want.

The Mako Sections were the same over and over again. Unlike the characters it never gained some new tricks. If offered no tactical options whatsoever, and there was far too much of it. I got the feeling during the game, that if I were to experience 100% of the game, I would spend most of my time in the Mako driving across boring planets, looking for stuff that didn't matter. I didn't like that in order to find some of the good content, I would have to sift through hours of trite, boring, laborious content that annoyed the crap out of me.

Actually no Piddy, I don't like shooters so ME is really not my type of game. Plus I'm very tired of people holding up ME2 as if it's the second coming of Christ. (You know the feeling, I've seen it with GOW3). And if I did care there's always the PC.
Yeah, but ME was one of the best titles ever released for the 360, so of course 360 fans will champion the sequel as a reason to have the system. Regardless of whether or not you like the genre it's still a fantastic achievement and a fantastic game that should be recognized as such.

I will agree with you about hype machines, but ME 2's hype machine has not been nearly as large as some of the recent ones we've seen.

Ugh, can we retire the word "fanboy" for a while? Read the comments on the IGN review. It's basically "lol @ xbox fanboys who think you have uncharted 2 beat", "SCREW YOU PS3 FANBOYS!!" "FANBOYS FANBOYS faann boi".

Lets be civil.
Most of his posts are decidedly pro PS3 or Anti-360. We've discussed this before and we're both fanboys of our particular system, so I would just call it playful ribbing.

As for beating Uncharted 2.... Mass Effect 2 may not be able to compete in the graphics department, but I'm sure it'll be a sheer spectactle and a better overall game.

Thats not what the ocean told me...
I had some fun with the original Mako but any new vehicle will be just as enjoyable I'm sure, as long as terrain doesn't suck.

The Mako wasn't nearly as bad as I'd heard, but the inability to shoot down at close targets was annoying, and I wasn't a big fan of driving over long expanses of empty terrain just to find some random Thorium Vein. Good thing it wasn't mandatory. Not really any problems on using it in normal missions, like Noveria.

I love the Mako as well but you see I'm a real man so I can control my all terrain tank with wheels and booster jumps.

It was seriously easy to control that thing, I have no idea what you guys find so hard about it. The one problem I had was the long shield recharge but that was minor really.

And I thought that Mako was that set of ridiculously sharp knives that can slice a pineapple all the way through like a hot knife through butter.
