Oh god no. The problem nowadays is that everything has to have a multiplayer component. Not because it adds to anything or because its good, just because its another tick on the checklist of crap that has to be added to every single game these days.

Co-op would be poorly implemented in it and would just result in the single player experience being watered down to accommodate it.
Sigh..... a lot. So what if the single player is a wittle watered down. Us co op ers havent had a single game with co op from TES and if there were one it would be fucking awesome. And poorly implemented? FFS!!! IF ITS IN A DIFFERNT WORLD, HOW THE FUCK WOULD IT BE POORLY IMPLEMENTED? WHY DON'T YOU TAKE A MOMENT TO READ THE WHOLE THREAD, THEN COME BACK TO ME.

Angry,
Rimmy
Maybe because MULTIPLAYER IS IN EVERY FUCKING GAME NOWADAYS AND THE SINGLE PLAYER ALWAYS SUFFERS SO WHO GIVES A FUCK WHAT THE CO-OPERS WANT! THEY CAN GO BACK TO THEIR CRAPPY LITTLE FPS's AND LEAVE OUR RPGS ALONE!!!!! (Are we done with the retarded capslock and multiple exclamation points now? Yes? Good. Besides, if you claim there are no co-op games around then you are clearly not looking.)

And this is Bethesda. A company known for doing everything poorly.
It is a bad idea and I do not need to read every single comment in the entire 4 page thread to know for 100% fact that it is a bad idea.

Not giving a damn about your mood,
Marcone.
Ffs.... when I say there is no co op games around, I mean they are either really really shit a la WaW, or too short a la SP: Conviction. What most co op ers want is a good game based on co op. Army of Two is a great leap that way, but still not enough. Because you say that all games have multi player now? Well almost all of my favorite rpgs e.g. the fucking TES DON'T. I don't want another mindless multiplayer fps, I want some co op fun. There is a fucking difference. See, all the good games always have one little thing missing. For Red Faction and TES it's co op. For ArmA 2, I thought it was a big threat. Insurgents are okay to a point, but at the end they are kinda pushovers compared to your mighty chopper fleet. The point is that lot's of people want co op, so why should you try to stop them? We don't wail on about how single player ruins co op. All we ask for is a single TES with some good co op. Then you can go back to your single player and everyone is HAPPY.

Is getting fucking annoyed,
Rimmy

EDIT: Oh and by the way, don't try to tell co op ers to play an MMO. The point of co op is to have fun with a small band of friends, not the entire fucking population of America.

Yes I know you don't want to roleplay. And thus, co op would be awesome for you. Because combat is soooo much better if someone is there with you (like you said) cept the AI are all retards.

Sorry about any problems,
Rimmy
except from your wrong because i love roleplaying. your talking to the girl who roleplays on halo and red facion guerilla.
And your talking to the guy who roleplays on red faction: G and Red dead redemption. (Really, I roleplay in fucking everything)
But still, you can roleplay in co op, in fact it would be better. a fucking lot.

Like roleplaying,
Rimmy

Disagree.

If Bethesda put in co-op I would see that as them saying "We aren't confident we've made a good enough game this time to hold you attention for hundreds possibly thousands of hours like the rest, so we're going to let you play with a friend so you might come up with your own fun in the game world.".

Co-op for far future DLC as a nice surprise, Yes please. Friends only however, I don't give a shit about what some hacker has done.
Again.... sigh.

TES is an RPG game. A ROLE PLAYING GAME.
Do you see that bit that says role play? That's what it's all about. And making your own fun in games is pretty much always more fun than something set up. I would love to roleplay with my mate.
Here are 3 quick ideas off my head
1. Family
2. Mercs
3. A trader and a bodyguard
I though of those in about 5 seconds.
THATS WHATS FUN ABOUT IT. Making up your own stuff is fucking awesome.

See ya next time,
Rimmy
Yes my friend, I agree whole heartedly, but that isn't what TES is about, if I want an RPG with all those things, I will simply play Fable. You get me wrong, the thought of playing Oblivion or Fallout with a mate blows my mind, being the "Skyrim Horse Police" and killing every horse we see besides our own on our "world tour" sounds like great fun.

However I do not want to see that on release, simply because there hasn't been an Elder Scrolls game that has needed it. IF they turned around a month or two after release and said "Hey guys, we're giving you co-op access, where your friend can hop into your world and do whatever you're doing with you." that would be brilliant. Co-op shouldn't be a "reason" to buy the game, it draws away from your own single player experience, which is exactly what TES and Fallout are all about.

Ok, well, as I was yelling at the other guy, I might have been a bit silly. My point is, even if it was just a DLC, lots of people want co op. There, I said it.

Done,

Ok, lets just say this. In co op, both combat (aka playing) and roleplay would be good. There, now no more weird text.

Thats better,

Since you have decided to act like a petulant child and have resorted to petty insults simply because someone dared to disagree with you, we are now done.

This sort of thing, is exactly why I do not want people like you in my games.

Have a good day.
Argh, really, wtf? You don't want me in your games.... have you every heard of the thing called an option? Maybe, clicking single player instead of co op? You don't have to play co op. I know someone who don't play the single player of CoD. I know people who don't play the multi player of CoD. And yet you think because someones having fun you have to stomp all over it? What if we said that there should be no single player in Army Of Two? It's a co op game, sure, but there is no reason why there can't be a single player, nor a multi player. You really need to calm down, kill some trolls, play some single player and let us co op players have our fun.

(Can't be bother to say anything),
Rimmy

Legion IV, I would like co-op for RPGs, too. Maybe it would suck if you just added a second player into a single player game (but me and my buddy would still play it). I think it would be better if the made a two person co-op RPG from the ground up... at least one game!

It wouldn't work in the main game but a seperate campaign for co-op maybe?
Maybe not as big as the main world?
I don't know really :)

I agree, and if they make it from TES, all the better.

Has an army of co op minions,

I disagree.

The enjoyment in Bethesda games for me comes from the feeling of complete immersion in the environment and a lovely, relaxed zen feeling I get from exploring their worlds on my own.

Anyway, there would be huge balance issues due to the levelling.
This. Oblivion was my world to tackle.
Oblivion was the world I got lost and confused in. Then I fell down a hole.

But wouldn't there be some use to having someone playing as the distraction? Or helping you figure things out?
I want to be immersed and directly affect the world. Multiplayer lessens both of those. I never needed help.

The point is, think about all of the new possiblitys. Besides, if it were co op, it would be harder, and thus you would need help. And as for the immersion, again, you don't HAVE to play it. That's something people need to get through their heads before saying no.

No offence,
Rimmy

No, I like taking my time and going through the dialog, deciding how to deal with something and sometimes I can take awhile to make my mind up in a conversation with someone. Co-op is fun with something like Borderlands where you can just run around and kill stuff, getting loot, but it's not fun when you're trying to make choices and decisions and you know, playing an RPG. Leave co-op to other games and let me play my RPG by myself.

Stay calm..... ok... now, my idea for getting around that was when two players were in some place, if one player talks, he gets to decide everything. If multiple players talk then they vote and if noone wins then its a quick ingame flip o' coin and there you go. Besides, if you were to play split screen you and your mate could decide IRL. And let you play RPG by yourself? We arn't stopping you, it's just that a lot of us want to play rpgs aswell, but with friends. Again, you don't have to play co op.

Thanks,
Rimmy

EDIT: I like taking my time through dialogue too, so don't think I'm just saying that from an outside view.

i see your point how about up to 6 player co op where people work together in a special world away from the main world like in portal 2

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. No co op messing up single player, or vice versa, and you can go off your tits mad or be a nice little peasant.... who somehow casts fireballs. It could work soooo well, if people just gave it a chance.

Almost time for me to collapse,
Rimmy
