-Zidane from FF9 (I never really liked his characterization...he always put me a bit off. In my opinion, Locke was a better character than this guy.)
-Tidus from FF10 (annoying voice, and completely idiotic characterization. Pure annoyance from beginning to end.)
Those two deserve most of my scorn for being unbelievably popular despite being avid fans of the Idiot Ball.
Hell, I actually came to love Freya from FF9 solely because she verbally ***** slapped Zidane for being a complete dolt. Her tragic story is light years ahead of Zidane's in terms of actual character development despite being cut off at the knees.
In the same vein, Kimahri earned my approval because the very first thing you see him do is try to kill Tidus.
He looks perpetually pissed off in every single scene from that point onward as if he's asking himself:
"First I have to look after that vacant idiot of a summoner, now I have to babysit her new annoying plaything? I swear that if the plot doesn't kill this kid, I will...what have I done to deserve this?"
