Alrighty, bring it, I got my battle axe, you got yours?
Don't need one for you, little man.
Schwarzenegger voice?
Norwegian voice (Queue dramatic music), WITH the accent.
Sweet, Scandinavian accents are cool.
Not really, English or Scottish accents are cool. I guess they kinda suck when you cringe from hearing Norwegian accents (They usually suck at english pronounciation, but know all the words)
So true... Danish accents are just as bad

I'm not a fan of either English or Scottish accents (sorry guys if I offended you, I don't hate them, I just don't prefer them). I don't actually care about how it is pronounced, just if the sentence comes out right. Accents make it sound cooler.

A very interesting coincidence.

There is a comic book series known as "Northlanders" which I am very much a fan of.

My brother just bought the third installment in the series. This one full of short stories, of which the very first takes place in a town called "Lindisfarne", which is only one letter off from "Landisfarne".

Well, I thought it was interesting. It's a good series, I recommend it.
I might check it out.

Nein, nein und NEIN, ziz cannot BE. The accents makez them zound ridiculus becauze of the rolling R'z in Der Skandinavian language.

I'm too small. I woudl sooner die in childbirth. Oh wait, I would have wiht that period's level of medical science.

Though, with teh idea that perhaps I was born big and strong, yes, I would do whatever the clan wanted me to do with them. Fighting's better than a lot of otehr things I could be doing at the time.

Ho boy, I don't get why you almost always can tell where people are from with the way they speak.

Well, I dress up as a Viking every so often, and I've worn a mjolnir constantly around my neck for a fair few years now without ever taking it off, so if I lived in Viking times which is a massive time period then I would farm a lot, grow crops and go fishing mainly. And when the Gods fated it then I would go on adventures to known and unknown locations. Much like the real Vikings did, not constant running around with axes...

Well at least I'd be on the Viking side.

Whether or not I was a raider, I do know that I would die at a far too young age. Not cool

If I was alive in Viking times, I'd probably be living in the heartland of Germany where my ancestors came from. No coastal raids but I probably would have been killed off in a pointless war anyway.

Viking times sucked in reality but they make for epic stories now.

I would confuse the hell outta everyone. I'm large like a viking, white like a viking, enjoy big sharp or blunt weapons like a viking, but I'm Puerto Rican!
So I would blend in and attack some villages....quite possibly my own!

First i'd pick a fight with the great worm Jörmungand by spitting in his eye at the edge of the world. Then i'd die in battle and travel to Valhalla to fight, drink and have sex with wenches until Ragnarök.

Shit, vikings are awesome...

Vikings? I live in a landlocked country, no chance to come here with their battleships. I'd laugh at them!
...Battleships? Do you know what the Vikings were? They could travel up rivers in their ships. They went into Russia even.
as far as north America and Constantinople infact!

General Point with regards to Viking Ancestory:

It's all well and good the Scandinavians here happily declaring thay their ancestors where Vikings because they are Norwegian/Icelandic/Swedish/Dane...but i think many English people too can claim Viking ancestry, after all the Vikings settled all over the British Isles, leaving behind names such as Thompson or Robinson, and place names such as Grimsby and Whitby...most people from the east coast of England almost certainly have some Viking ancestory. Then the English in turn colonised most of the English speaking world today. This means that many Americans, Canadians, Australians and New Zealanders can also expect to have at least a bit of Viking blood in their veins.

On topic-
If i lived in the Viking Age, i would have made a tidy income by exporting timber to the Greenland colony, and become a shipping magnate. Then, when Erick the Lief discovers North America, i can pile in investment into the colony in Meadowland, and provide the kind of resources that the Greenland colony doesn't have, hence why the Vikings failed to colonise North America in the first place. Once a pernament settlement is established i can claim a load of land for myself and make a bomb selling it to Viking settlers in North America. Or indeed i may decide to claim the colony as my own and rule as King of Meadowland.

Alternativly, be a trader down the Russian waterways, selling furs and amber for silver, and with that money expore the Byzantine and Muslim world.
