It is all Gods fault. If he can give you the lemons, he sure as hell can give you the lemonade.

And I prefer cherry... the bastard.

If I met God ... well if if you're talking about an omnipotent being which created everything that is, and will be ... then you *have* met God.

but nevertheless the question would be ....

"If you represent perfection and ultimate greatness, then how come what you have created is so flawed given that the designation of something 'perfect' means infallibility in all extension?"

A machine can't be a *perfect* machine if what it produces is sub par.
If everything was perfect then everything would be boring.

Yes, I agree with the guy that I quoted, because he was telling people to fuck off with the bashing of his faith. He didnt start it at all. He wasnt attacking their beliefs like you guys are to us. It is no secret that many of the Atheists on this site think they are infinetly smarter and better than us because we believe in a higher being. I actually have more respect for the ones that dont mind us at all than religious people. They dont care about it, and I am fine with that.

And you bring that point up, why dont I bring this up?

that isnt even the worst one, that is just the first one I could find. Do you support this?

I dont support blasphemy laws other than dont kill and (to summarize) dont be a dick. So dont go putting bullshit words into my mouth. And that "gentlemen" is the exact thing I am angry about. Calling us crazy. I am not on the side of the religious extremists. He is more worse than most of them. I listen to the facts. I belive in evoulition, string theory, exc. I just have enough sense to think that we arent the greatest thing out there, and that no matter what happens, there basically has to have been some sort of God at some point, unless there was the repeating theory.

I havent attacked you once, you guys fucking started it. I am finishing it. And go ahead and respond, I refuse to read any more of your Bullshit.
Who exactly are "you guys"? Do I smell a strawman somewhere here? Oh hallo there, Scarecrow. Don't respond to "the big bad atheists". Respond to individual posts.

You say that we're attacking your beliefs. Well, you're attacking ours! Our culture is saturated with religion. Don't even try to deny it. "In God we trust"? Christmas as national holiday? People being attacked for simply saying that there is no god - and there is absolutely no proof for the existence of a god. Various religious writings are easily falsifiable and the "historical" information given in them can be easily proven untrue.

Earth's age from the Bible? Yeah, it's not too hard. The flood from the Bible? Yeah, same. There was no flood covering the whole planet, only a few large local floods in the area some of the today's big religions started out that are documented which kind of points to a thesis that religion could just be trying to explain and attach meaning to events that cannot be explained at the time otherwise.

What exact reason do you have to believe in a god, when the material that's supposed to be its (a singular omnipotent diety would NOT need a gender) words is obviously false? If you can't cite it as a reason for your belief, why do you believe? Is it out of fear? Out of desire to belong?

Believing in any organized religion is the opposite of believing facts. Say that there is a god. I can't prove that there isn't, the same way you can't prove that there is. But I sure as hell can prove that the Christian God doesn't exist given the only proof of "his" existence, The Bible, being so full of shit that it contradicts itself at every turn and has more plot holes then an 80s science fiction thriller.
Same goes for any other religion that cites a book as it's proof.

And clearly, you've got no idea what "blasphemy laws" are. They are laws that make criticizing a religion illegal. Which goes completely against freedom of speech, religion, and the idea of separation of religion and state.

If the notorious angry man can say "fuck you" in response to supposed "bashing of religion", I sure can say "fuck you" in response to ANYTHING containing the words "God", "soul", "hell", "heaven" and so on.

But, of course, I chose the more civilized and intelligent response backed by facts and logic. Which is perhaps the reason why "us atheists" are "infinitely smarter and better".

Meh... belief in a creator deity isn't so far fetched when you come to think about it.

[***]

You can say theres no 'God' but in the end you can't prove it ... isn't there a *chance* that a race of aliens from another Universe ago (from another Big Bang event previous) that managed to transcend age, and all energy potential to beable to recreate the Universe anew?

[***]

I mean for BILLIONS of years you had NOTHING and then BOOM you had something? To be frank, saying 'God did it' makes aloty of sense ....
You mean the Green Lantern Blackess Night theory? And some think it true. But the scientific community calculate the drifted distance between stars and discovered they all came from the same point, the big Bag. At the base, where made of oxygen and carbon for the most part. So no, it isn't far-fetch to think we came from any demolition expert wet dream. Some say that life didn't originated from earth but we were cells on a meteorite, frozen in water. That why some people are fascinated to find water on other planet. Still, it all came from the big bang. It also possible that some Alien life form evolved faster than us, but restart the cosmos? Impossible without matters. Its a resource that limited even in space. You can't star nothing with something. Beside, when the universe will end (yes they proved without a doubt) It would be nothing but explosion and black holes. In the end, life is just a race. We don't know if where the fastest or how many competed, but we all had the same start.

Give this kid a goddamned medal.
Weren't you, like, leaving?

Or perhaps you'd like to go down the same path Angryman's taking?

Because there are only this many times one can personally attack someone before the mods come.

You can't say anyone belief in that subject is offensive. It wasn't meant to offend anyone or to upset someone. You just give way to hatred because he don't think like you. And frankly, using racism like a shield won't help you. If he believe that there is no god, more power to him. Like i said to him; Your not helping proving you are right. Either let the big boys and girls talk or stop making your side look like Ass****

It not a Insult war but you just show how dumb you are if your turn it that way!

Edit: Why did the second quote didn't work... i wish Tdc2182 see that post too

What quote was that? I can't make a rebuttal if I don't know what you're talking about.

There is your problem, I am not your friend, and neither is anybody else on this site. They may be aquaintances, or you may have made a good friend, but that was not directed towards any of them.
I never implied you were, my example was made purely to illustrate that it isn't a matter of friends or whatnot, it's a matter of not taking yourself too seriously. Again I'd like to iterate that I only made a light hearted joke, I didn't mean any offence at all in any way shape or form, you have molded this situation this way.

Tdc2182 said:
I have given you the reason why you should control yourself. You are now just being a troll. I have been posting on these forums for over a year. I know when someone is just trying to get someone agravated. And you are the reason why I look down on certain atheists.
I disagree that I should "control" myself because I haven't really lost it or anything. Any post I have made after my joke was entirely in response to you and I'd like to think that they came across as calm and rational, but that rarely happens over the internet. I'm not trying to get you aggravated, and I mean that sincerely, but I'm not going to censor myself for your sake, and I wouldn't want you to censor yourself for mine, or anyone else's for that matter.

Like I said before, everyone is entitled to their beliefs, I'm not attacking yours, I made a joke iterating mine and I got attacked. Is that fair? No, I don't think so, and yet you are the one here playing the persecution card. Interesting, no?

Seriously, I have no intentions to "troll" or get a raise out of anyone, I'm just responding to your criticisms.

Tdc2182 said:
And if you want someone to lighten up, the cardinal rule is to not tell them anything along the lines of "lighten up". But I am sure you know that.
I tell it like it is, you need to lighten up, I'm not going to sugar coat my language so you can feel good about it. Sorry I have the decency to be honest with you. You can be passionate about your beliefs, that's fine, but when you go militant like this you make an ass of yourself.

Tdc2182 said:
And like I tell everyone when I get into this argument. Go ahead and reply, I have given you my point of view, and you failed hard at giving me your side, I wont read it. Try to maybe make the attempt to see my side next time. It might help.
I saw your side and I didn't like it. What you're implying here is that you are right, you can assert that all you want but it isn't true. We have a conflict of philosophy and I'm sorry to inform you but debates rarely end in one person changing their mind.

Don't assume that because I didn't agree with you that I didn't see what you were driving at. I got it, that's how I've responded to you on every point. You can ignore me, go ahead, that's just running away if you ask me. I'm sorry I'm not going to censor myself for you, but you should really learn to ignore minor offences.

I'm sorry it turned out this way, we could have been friends one day but it seems you're more willing to shut someone out for making a joke. Well, I won't hold a grudge, so if you want to chat some day hit me up, I doubt it'll happen though seeing how negative you were in that last post. Oh well.

i see a probation coming on....

oh and i would also ask him to fix my metabolism.
So how would such a probation be deserved? If implications that there is no god (and there isn't, go try to prove it without screaming "faith faith faith" which is pretty pathetic given the hypocrisy those people show towards other aspects of life) are considered trolling by those who are undoubtedly theists, implications that there IS a god is no less offensive towards atheists.

Unprovable beliefs deserve NO respect. They aren't deep. They're shallow and weak.
Tell me, what's the weather like up your own ass?
OP: I dunno, I'd probably go mad at the sight of flawless divine beauty or whatever. That's what happens, right?
If that wasn't the case, I wouldn't ask him any questions. I'd rather find out for myself.
You know, Attacking people doesn't prove point. What if atheists (like me) are right? ... Well you would die of body and soul. What if religious people were right? Some would chuckle wile other burn because they are douche. But all in all, Nobody will be able to prove anything by saying the other one is a ass. Think about it

Lincoln " I believe that everyone is equal. "
Douglas " No they are not and your a F***Ing Ass with your beard. "

View like that, who's the bigger douche?

My point was, who is right when a argument turn to name calling central? And the response i was looking for is the one that doesn't make is own side look bad by firing back. Beside, in Christianity, the bible said;" If someone hit your left cheek, show him the other one". So they look like hypocrites on top of that. And if you make your side look like that, they WILL hate you more (i mean your side will hate you)

You make a fair point, I apologize for losing my head to both you and the guy I insulted. I stand by my point, however, that militant theists are the reason nobody takes religion seriously. However, since this isn't a debate about theism versus atheism and more on the topic of "I made a joke and he flew off the handle" I'll leave that to rest.

Sorry mate, shouldn't have sullied the movement like that, thanks for pointing it out.

Yeah, you're being a douchebag, so I'm flaming you for it. There's nothing hypocritical about it. I don't care whether or not there's a god or if there isn't, I just care that I see a smarmy dick crapping over other people's beliefs because they think they're smarter and better than them.

I'll reiterate: I don't care whether or not there's a god. I don't care what other people believe. What I do care about is when somebody is being a smug little shit and not only feeling that they're better than people who do believe in a religion, but actively insult those people for their beliefs.
People choose different ways of living. Some people choose to live their lives according to a system of beliefs they agree with, some choose to live life loving the smell of their own farts and groundlessly feeling like they're better than other people.
If he has the right to criticize people for the way they live, hey, I think I can give it a shot in my own, special way: by telling him how huge of a pompous fuckhead he is.
So you think because he's a smug it gave you the right to call him on it? Granted, he is. And i wouldn't want that guy representing anything i believe in. Like i wrote a thousand time already, it won't work and you'll look just as smug. Instead, call i'm on his bullshit. You use insult when you can't find a counter-argument strong enough. Than, let him dig his own grave. It far more satisfying to make the opponent said he's a dumb s**t that to flat out call him one. Trust me

"I refuse to say that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But." says Man, "the Babelfish is a dead give-away. It proves you exist, and so therefore you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that,"and promptly vanished in a puff of logic.
