Pop is what you hear most on the radio, which means it is trying to appeal to the most amount of people at once. What makes you think it is going to be technically unique or have actual meaning? Of course not. It is easier for Nickelback to take the same sound from other songs and copy-paste. It is easier to use auto-tune than to learn how to fucking sing. But nobody cares. Honestly, at least Lady Gaga is good acoustic (better than the album stuff even).

Here's a tip... Stop listening to the radio already!

As for whether it is any good... is it technically good? Of course not, that's like saying Dragonforce can actually play its songs live.

That depends on your definition of music, doesn't it? People have been using various tools to create sounds that have upset the mainstream since music began. I think music still is music whether you like it and agree with how it is created, or not.

Who knows? Do you listen to Hendirx, The Who or The Eagles because it's cool to namedrop old bands or do you genuinely like them? Of course music is still music. These bands and artists before paved the way for what we know as music today. Also, you need to dig deeper than the latest chart successes. There is a whole world of undiscovered music out there, even for someone who tries to seek out something new everyday. Have a look, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised by some of it.

What about all the new sounds you can make with electronic instruments? Modern Electronica is pretty new, so there is a whole lot we haven't done. Most of the time those sounds are being played my someone on keyboard, not to mention the skill you need to program those songs.

but whenever i see someone playing a keyboard and i hear a heavy drum solo or electric guitar solo i'm truly disappointed.

Judging by the OP, you are judging music in it's entirety based on the pop genre. That's a bit silly since there are many other genres too.

I do like the first few seconds of "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga when she sings "Caught in a bad romance" after that, I don't like it.

Listen to the first 29 seconds of that song. Tell me that's not good with a straight face.

I would be completely passive and unjudgmental just like the rest of these folks, spouting cliches like "To each his own" and "Youth is wasted on the young" and whatnot....

...but I hate pop so much, it's overwhelmingly easy to say "today's music is shit." There are too many otherwise nice girls I know who like to dance to "Blah Blah Blah" or "Poker Face"....what? Where's the law that says it's wrong to judge a woman by her music?

For me to consider something music it must be able to be performed live with people playing all of the instruments, and the singer must be able to sing without technical assistance. As a general guideline, there must be drums or some percussion instruments to keep beat, and at least one string instrument.
