I beg to differ when you say Battlefield is well balanced. Start off as a fresh recruit in Bad Company 2, I thought I was doing pretty well in assault until an experienced sniper joined the enemy team, he had something resembling the Barret from MW2, a spotter scope and 12x optics.Smeg_head said:Well, I play Battlefield 2142 on PC, and on there no, the sniper can be easily flushed out by the assault, and the assault gunned down by the support, so it's quite balanced.
The map we were doing consisted of a dash across largely open ground towards a wrecked ship, the match was spent mostly hiding behind solid objects trying to avoid being one-shotted.
This wasn't fun and this wasn't fair either, we were getting slaughtered largely because we weren't high enough levels to have access to the big guns and special abilities.
Back to sniping though, in my opinion, a single guy who is actually sniping on a given team is alright (it adds an extra challange to the game if he does it properly), however, it is not cool (or even nessercary) for everyone in the entire game to run around whoring the sniper rifles because they're an easy one-hit kill.
