I guess the only way for the porn industry (any medium like this really) to progress and continue making money is to adapt to the internet, Imagine, a platform like steam freely accessible with masses of high quality industry supported porn purchasable and downloadable for prices similar to indie games and special offers, deals etc (eg. Devil in Mrs Jones Week or Anal for All 30% off) free downloads, packs etc.
Could work, with enough incentive.

Do you know why Netflix is destroying Blockbuster? Same thing as why the porntubes are destroying the DVD porn industry. It's because it's on the internet. The internet is only as far away as your computer, and DVD requires a drive and a walk and the transfer of money.

People who get paid to have sex are asking the people who pay to watch them not to do it for free.
Much as I'm sure there's some talent involved in going "ooh baby" and .... yeah, I really don't think the people who are watching you really care that much about the "artists" opinions.
Maybe the idea that pr0n is being reduced to the moneyshots is indicative of the idea that pr0n is just buildup/moneyshot. Perhaps the actors could ask for more money from the industry, because I REALLY doubt Hugh Hefner is sitting there worrying about pirates.
If you're seriously worried about the "pitiful" amounts "artists" are getting paid, then can I suggest you look at the jobs of Teachers, Policemen, Nurses, Binmen, Charity Workers, Retail Workers; who work a LOT harder, get paid a LOT less, and often have to jobs that demean them without having fun at the same time.
Not to say that I don't think some pr0n stars aren't talented, but we're not talking brain surgery here.

I think professional pornography is gross. There's something about women who make a living off sex that I just find disgusting. Sure, amateur stuff has low production values, but it usually stars someone a lot closer to a real woman; not some worn-out, half-silicon Barbie. Like seriously, who thinks the first woman in that video is attractive?

In all seriousness, as a 16 year-old living on £30 a week, I can- err, couldn't afford porn, so piracy's always going to be an issue, it will never stop.
