Jack Thompson has no power in Canada. Jack Thompson is not wanted in Canada, which raises the question of how the hell did he get into Canada. *Slams door, releases the hounds*.

I'd say no.... after all, he couldn't grant me success at my career, I'm a game developer. Just testifying would kill my career and almost everything I love about my life. Anything else he could offer would just be hollow. I would try however to get him to somehow repeat what he said secretly on tape to try and sabotage him :D

I'd invite him in to discuss the offer over tea.

And thus, with a drugged cup of tetley, begins the several miserable last days of jack Thompson.

Well, I'm Canadian so I don't really care.

on the other hand, I would use my one wish to create an absolutely enormous (think over 10 million employees) private military company with super advanced technology. I would then use my army to conquer the USA, un-ban M-rated video games, and lock jack up.

Nope, lying in front of court is illegal, and a good rule of thumb is don't do illegal things.

What do I need money for if I can't buy M rated video games? Daddy needs his Bioshock: Infinite.

I love my hobby too much to refuse all that money just because an asshole decided to stick his head into his bum hole.

But it would be lying in front of the Supreme fucking Court.
That's just wrong...

People have done it, but I would feel so filthy and wrong afterwards.
And shunned by both family and friends....

All the money in the world...with no one to spend it with...

No, I can't do it. No matter how badly I want the money.

No no, a thousand times no. There's lots of good M rated games out there. They shouldn't be made illegal just because some parents are too lazy to pay attention to what their kids are playing. And yes, I am struggling with my career, but you know what? I want to succeed based on the merits of my own skill, not because some guy convinced some studio to throw me a bone!

Well, there's a couple issues. First, unless what you say about being changed and more violent because of video games is absolutely true, then you're committing perjury, a felony, and can get the entire case thrown out of court but landing yourself right back in it. Second, Brown vs. Entertainment Merchants of America (EMA) ruled (last month, June 27th, 2011) that Video games are considered art and therefore protected under the first amendment and you would have to argue that M rated video games are all obscene to get it into court. Then promptly be laughed at when the judge throws the case out.

All of that notwithstanding, I would still not testify for him. Even if he goes to someone else that's willing to lie through their teeth and risk (and being more than likely be caught for) committing a felony, and they win. I can't be brought to do that because I really believe that video games are an art form that needs to be developed and brought into its own and that M rating is what will allow developers to really flesh out more of the human experience than they can in a T rated game.

TLDR; version, hell no.

I would say yes, so the guy couldn't get someone else. Then say exactly the OPPOSITE of what he wanted me to say in court.

EDIT 2: Also, do consider that if you say no, he'll probably just ask someone other hardcore gamer who is less than honest.
So the choice is:

A: Those games banned and I get whatever I want
B: Those games banned and I gain nothing because someone else will do it.

What choice is there in that? What dilemma am I supposed to be wrestling with here?
