I'm surprised how everyone here quickly dismisses and insults the fanboys when there is one question: Who the hell said that Halo fans were criticizing Avatar? I sure have never seen or read anything like that.

Sounds completely made up.

It's kind of like Jack Thompson, a minority opinion gets overblown and put in the spotlight because it is entertaining to do so. I'm sure most halo fans are not that insecure and validation-desperate.

I think this is just a generalisation. The machinery looks similar yes, but hey. Halo is a game. Avatar is a film. They'll never be the same that way.

I don't see why it's a cult of halo fans attacking this film. I'm sure it's other people as well.

if you adjust for inflation then actually gone with the wind made more money than avatar, that entire system for measuring earnings is flawed. Viewing numbers are where it's at.
