I really doubt this is supposed to be charged with symbolism. She wore a suit made of meat because it fits her stage persona, then she said it represented something baffling for the same reason.

Well, yeah she's pretty much a *****, don't really know if she's dumb or not, but clearly she has no problem looking like a lunatic in front of the entire world just to get people more interested in her music. So before she was GaGa, she tried to win audiences as a pop jazz singer [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoK7T0Xhfss]. Nobody really paid attention, since the Alicia Keys/Nora Jones thing was sooo six years ago.

So how do you stand apart from the rest of the identical-sounding dreck that is contemporary mainstream pop? (I can't really hear the difference between Katy Perry, Ke$ha & Miley Cyrus.) You take the Madonna route: audacity. Madonna is a mediocre singer and a crappy dancer who hired good songwriters and just did and wore the most shocking things to get attention. And it worked. So I applaud her for her marketing and publicity skills. But I sure as hell don't expect to find musical talent on the Top 40 charts these days.
