Maybe so, but in this war against Katy Perry, who has more publicity?
I don't really care. Their music is crap so both can just disappear from the music scene.
I agree, but that wasn't my point.

They do provide comic relief.
No Justin Bieber provides that.
No, he provides a target.
Very True. I still laugh at the clip in which he got hit by a water bottle. I only wish it was a brick.
There is a version where he gets hit by a grenade and explodes.
Yes. But it needed to be real.
I wanted to but its not worth the prison time. Unless you could do it like a ninja?
That's what a Sniper Rifle is for.

Katy Perry's 300 times fitter - I know who wins in my book!
And she can fire icing from her tits.

However, she is going out with Russell Brand. The knowledge that that perfect body has been ravaged by the worlds biggest pencil has forever darkened my opinion of her.

I fail to see any correlation between a meat suit and gay people. Is she suggesting that gay people should become vegetarians?

Genuinely love Lay Gaga, all the time. I think it's a good sign for the music industry that someone can be this fucking over the top again. It's not even my kind of music normally, I just dig what she does.

With that said, I never took her as the serious statement type. It doesn't necessarily help that she approached it from her usual bombastic direction. So I'm not sure how I feel about this one. Meat suit, while interesting, and definitely Gaga, may take away from any intended sincerity from what she's trying to communicate.
Keep saying that when she buys Neverland and starts passing out Jesus Juice.

I'm holding a pair of old smelly pants in my right hand. This symbolizes the corporate greed that oppresses the individual, and even though it is made for the masses, our personalities, our own selves, suffer from it.

I will now wear them and perform at the MTV awards. BECAUSE THAT IS HOW METAPHORS WORK!

Sniper rifle? Best to use something bigger. Especially if the Bieber parents are around. Can not let them spawn another Bieber. Would have to go nuclear. Just to make sure. Also do not want a "Best of Bieber" cd to be released when he is dead.
Which means we have to take out his record company as well.

Hate lady gaga, her music sucks and is only in papers for her next break down or weird clothes she wears. I am not against people looking strange, take a look at death metal, goth etc. But she does it for the ratings and for column inches in the papers. She is not shocking. A meat suit? Who cares. Is any one really shocked? No one is. Funny how todays music industry is won by clothing and shock instead of actual talent and quality songs.
Musical tastes aside, are you inferring that death metal groups, etc. don't wear their outlandish outfits for image and hype? Certainly they don't get as much attention as Gaga does but surely their music would sound exactly the same whether they wore costumes or not, wouldn't they?
Death metal and goth have there lame ass costumes. But in the UK all you get is "lady gaga wearing really high heels" etc. Her publicity is based on her costumes. She wore these monster heels at a UK airport and fell over. Automatic front page for her fashion. All music has its trends whether goth or metal etc. But all she is known for in the papers is her fashion, not her music.
Ah, I see. Here it tends to be more of an even mix I guess. Her outfits do get her attention but it seems the fact that she announced the title of her new album (and supposedly sang a few lines from it) at the VMAs made bigger actual news.
I like some goth but i dont like death metal so i can not comment on what is good or bad death metal. With the increase of live tv, like X Factor etc in both USA and UK, it seems publicity outweighs actual talent. Advertising makes you buy the albums instead of the songs or the artists.
Isn't it easy to say that though when you don't dig the music? Equate the music not being your kinda music to the music being bad? I just say this because I've done the same thing in my past. For instance: metal. I don't like metal, at all. So for years I assumed people dug metal because of the bullshit tough guy macho dark aesthetics. They wanted to be edgy. But of course I was thinking this because I couldn't see how the music could appeal to people. As I've gotten older, I've realized that no, they probably just dig the music, whether or not they got into it because of the aesthetic. Damn do I still hate that aesthetic though.

While I don't always have the highest opinion of people in general, I do believe that people wouldn't be buying this many albums of an artist purely because she does weird things. Her music's really not my kind of music, but I can tell she writes a damned catchy song for her genre.

-somehow she can't dress in anythign to make herself look attractive...
-I'm getting tired of the attention whore.
-Not sure how it could possibly mean that but whatever. It did call attention to it so I guess it did its job, see thought above. It's how she makes a living. Being noticed.

On a serious note, I think all of this is really interesting. I think it comes down to where you're coming from musically, and where you're going. And I mean everyone.

When I grew up, grunge was 'in'. I never got it, I never dug the whole pretentious "we're not about image just the music even though we're all wearing the same flannel over the same long underwear, ripped jeans and greasy looking hair". It turned me off so much, that still to this day I hate any hint of that same view. Taking it all too seriously. I grew up and discovered early punk (before THAT started taking itself too seriously), X-ray Spex, Devo, Bowie, The Dolls, and for me, Gaga is a refreshing change of contemporary music.

Some people however have been turned off by the over the top nature of pop music at times. And to them, Gaga is a step in the wrong direction. But you see, it's all where we're coming from and where we're going to. Maaaan.

I really don't know much about Lady Gaga. All I know is that her music sounds like shit, so I don't pay any attention to her. However my brother absolutely detests her. He knows a lot about the music industry, since music is his passion. According to him, Lady Gaga just wears these outrageous outfits for attention. She's not really insane, she doesn't believe any of the messages she is sending. She just does this to get attention without actually having talent.

Is he correct? I'm tempted to believe he is since he knows more about the music industry than I do. So I wouldn't pay attention to any bullshit message she claims to be making with her weird outfits. It's just a marketing gimmick. And I suppose it is working wonders, since a lot of people talk about her because of these outfits.
No, it's not true. She's actually a very talented musician, but I think she sold out after her singer-songwriter days. She's much better than 90% of the pop music out there, and just because your brother and you don't like her music does not mean she isn't a talented musician. I'm not a fan of Beck, but I have to admit that he's a musical genius. Not that Gaga is a genius, but you get what I mean.
OP: I think you people are taking this way too seriously. This is fucking hilarious.

Does the homosexuals in the US Army have to go to war dressed as meat? o_O
"We've got some dead meat over here!"

OT: She's a perfect example of an attention whore. I'm just saying my opinion.
What's the next thing she's gonna do? Wear a dress made out of wood to represent how the coloured Americans were treated before the civil war? She makes no sense at all.
