[HEADING=1]Chapter LVI - Let's Break Fallout 3! (Part 2)[/HEADING]
Now let's continue the showcase of some of the crazy ridiculous weapons in Fallout 3.
Now we're going a little bit north to the Talon Merc hideout. It's odd how close the raider base is to the Talon Merc one, you'd think they'd fight each other or something.
There's a trench of super mutants in between the two areas. Man, all of the assholes hang out around here.
Time to show off the Gauss Rifle.
Gauss Rifle
Yes, while less broken than the Power Armor and the stealth suit, the Gauss Rifle is pretty damn powerful on it's own.
Usually it only takes about one or two direct hits with it to take down most enemies, and it reloads extremely quickly. Not to mention that the fact each shot only costs 1 microfusion cell. It's pretty much a grenade launcher, honestly.
We sneak up on their base. In combination with the Chinese Stealth Suit, the Gauss Rifle can pretty much one shot most enemies with a good hit.
Unless it glitches out. Which it does often.
The Gauss Rifle's projectile has a tendency to pass through enemies it should have hit and miss completely. It's usually not a big deal, but it can be frustrating at times.
It's also pretty damn loud too. We woke up the whole base.
It's damn satisfying to use though. Probably my favorite thing from the whole Operation Anchorage DLC.
We kill the sentry bot in a couple of shots.
Time for my other favorite OP weapon.
Blackhawk
Only going to show this for a little bit, as it's been used pretty extensively by me for much of the game anyway.
It does as much damage as a sniper rifle with a single shot, and there is no recoil.
I'd ask what Bethesda were thinking, but I don't really think they were thinking about balance when it comes to this game.
At the very least, it's somewhat balanced by the fact that it uses .44 magnum ammo.
Now to go further into the base.
Now it's time for my personal favorite gamebreaker.
Metal Blaster
The Metal Blaster requires you to get a good chunk of the ingots back in The Pitt. It's so worth it though.
Essentially, it's a shotgun with lasers. Each individual beam has a chance to crit, so with a high luck and the stealth suit, pretty much every beam crits for a huge amount of damage. Not quite as powerful as the combat shotgun, but the combat shotgun decays a bit faster and has less of a range.
With one shot, you can pretty much turn anybody into dust. It's hilariously effective.
The Metal Blaster has a rather large spread, but it's manageable.
Back outside, we come across this tent. This leads to the next part of the Talon Company base.
Now we go into the tunnel. (I took the stealth armor off at this point, because I realized how quickly it decays if you keep getting shot, and this next part is filled with Talon Mercs.)
Decide to bring the Heavy Incinerator in. Not much of a game breaker (Not at this condition anyway) but it's still fun to use.
Not saying it isn't incredibly useful at times though.
VATS is still awesome.
Another favorite toy of mine.
A3-21's Plasma Rifle
You get this for completing "The Replicated Man" by helping Harkness. Watch me clear out this hallway in an instant. (With the help of VATS and Grim Reapers Sprint.)
I love this gun. Only downside is that it decays rather quickly, but Plasma Rifles aren't too hard to come by.
Now we're nearing the deepest section of the base. Here we fight the leader of the Talon Mercs.
In the middle of reloading, I find the guy with a missile launcher pulled out, and aimed right at me. Thankfully, we can eat probably a half a dozen missiles and just shrug them off.
Somehow this happens. I slide off the edge of a platform, he attacks me from above. Notice he's wearing metal armor instead of the regular Talon Merc crap.
Time to pull out the last game breaker.
Firelance or any alien weapon for that matter
The Firelance is probably the weakest of all of them, but it still destroys anybody who looks at you the wrong way.
The only downside being of course that before Zeta, your ammo supply is extremely limited.
In addition to zapping them, it also lights them on fire. Kind of overkill.
We level up randomly while walking out.
Max out Big Guns and start putting points into explosives.
More Intense Training, due to the lack of any fun/useful perks. Seriously, the perks in this game just aren't that good.
Max'd out Agility though.
So, next update we're onto Mothership Zeta, where the weapons get stronger, the enemies get spongier and the writing gets stupider. (Somehow)
