I don't think universal health care is feasible, not because of financial reasons, but simply because our medical system wouldn't be able to support all the people without coverage. Even circumventing the bureaucracy of the insurance companies, we simply don't have the personnel to accomplish such a feat. It would probably be 20 years of having a terrible healthcare system before we got to the point where we had a decent healthcare system again, and that's optimistic.

It's depressing, but regardless of whether or not this bill is signed, tens of thousands of people will die because they can't get care. All a public option does is mean that if you CAN get treatment, it will be payed for, not that everyone will get access to a doctor.

That said, FOR FUCK'S SAKE PEOPLE! If all you've got is Hitler mustaches, the devil, and warnings of fascism, you're just rehashing what every protestor since 1945 has said. If you're going to walk around making ridiculous comments about socialism and revolution, at least compare Obama to something new. Might I suggest Cthulu? Certainly would match up with the whole "Obama wants to kill your grandparents!" mentality.

I stopped it exactly at one minute (random chance) because I simply could not bear to watch that. I was literally feeling pain from hearing some of the things those people were saying.

I mean, I completely believe that it is there right to believe what they want to, and to speak out and support what they believe, but they are just so mind-bogglingly dumb it hurts.

I sure as shit didn't love G Dubya, the man was a fucking small minded puppet. You knew from day one that he had a hand up his ass controlling his moves. Obama is the same.

It's the corporations that now control this country, the government is just the smiley face that makes it all look so official and keep people from revolting completely. I say fuck them all.

The health care system is the best way to fuck corperations, cutting those amazingly unlikeable insurance companies out of the loop for the most part and allowing people to keep all their fingers, as opposed to having to choose which one they want to keep.

Insurance company scenerio:
Me - "I don't want insurance, and I'm not going to pay for it anymore."
Insurance Corporations - "Shit, we lost a customer."

Governmeny insuracne scenerio:
Insurance Corporations - "SHIT! WE LOST MORE THAN HALF OUR CUSTOMERS!"
Me - "I don't want insurance, and I'm not going to pay the government insurance tax anymore."
Government - *throw me in jail*

Universal food providing = good for everyone, because everyone gets food.


The problem would be in who is providing anything, if they can actually provide it in a reasonable fashion, and if they won't be prone to corruption. Tell me honestly if you believe the government, who were beat badly by Walmart in terms of helping Hurricane Katrina victims, could provide this service or any other service that is 'universal' without corrupting it or fucking it up in some way.

Is this some sort of admission of inferiority? Most Western nations manage to provide health care for their populations without going bankrupt or selling all our spare organs off to rich arabs for backhanders. Is it beyond America? The rest of us sorted little things like medical care last century.

Its adds to the atmosphere by not having dying homeless under each bridge.

Because Communist states and Fascist states often wind up being *dictatorships* in practice. People confuse the similarity between the Soviet form of Communism and Fascism, and Fascism with a dictatorship. Basically all Fascist states are dictatorships, but people forget not all dictatorships are Fascist--a Monarchy, for instance, is a dictatorship but that doesn't make it Fascist. Similarly, a Communist state maybe be a dictatorship, but that doesn't make it Fascist either.
