You're basing your opinion on all conservatives off of a conspiracy theorist on YouTube? I guess you all watch Michael Moore religiously then...
Firstly, no, I at think that these people are a disgrace to the Republicans, there are conservatives that have valid points, most of the people at these protests do not. The majority of the Republicans are smarter than that, in fact, there is even a good portion of Republicans that want health care reform.

Secondly, it is heartwarming to hear someone say something postive about Michael Moore for once. By which I mean, it is heartwarming to hear someone say something about him other than that he is an idiot, who is going to break into all of our homes and stab us to death, and we should murder and mutilate him. It just seems so... disturbing that even ordinarily rational people would say such things.
I see Moore as a pundit, nothing more. A liberal film-making version of Limbaugh, if you will. Just so many people swear on his word as absolute truth.

Between the teabaggers/birthers/deathers and other miscellaneous protesters...
And every self-avowed conservative and libertarian on TV...
And at least half of the Republican legislators in Congress...
And numerous high-selling books about conservative ideology...
And all the special websites that have sprung up just to cater to this far-right stuff...

I don't think it's just a few rubes with signs.

When did I call all conservatives idiots?

Not only does this have nothing to do with a conspiracy theory, but I called the people in the video stupid, and the title of the thread is supposed to be sarcastic.

I agree, I dislike it when people just follow the words of others, rather than bothering to see where they should be standing, rather than doing some of the research themselves. However, what I dislike more, is when they not only follow others with crusader-like fealty, but also incite violence against others, which is something that I have been hearing a lot lately. It is just something I've been needing to say for quite a while.

I will never understand the idea that healthcare leads to socialism, because hell, I live in Australia, a country with public healthcare, and despite my efforts to the contrary we remain conservative as. I cannot see the link between helping the poor and underprivileged experience a better quality of life, and social breakdown. Perhaps I should just sacrifice more Republician virgins to my non blue eyed non blonde non white unionised unchristian god.

Everything he said and did?

Seriously, even if you are a fascist, I'd rather have someone in charge that can actually ride a Segway.

.....whoa... are you saying... we could end up with black members of the KKK? If we assume there are at least some black people who think the ways these guys do, its possible, no?

Silly thought, I know, but I would laugh my head off if Obama's presidence managed to increase equal opportunities within the KKK.
The Klan is just the antecedent. Now we've got groups like separatist militias (these are the "right-wing domestic terrorists" that the DHS admonished us about earlier this year). Some of them are overtly racist, others less so. The thing with fascist movements is that they're necessarily opposed to unassimilated minorities, but they can bridge racial lines if everyone identifies as part of the same nationalist/nativist culture.

Still, with the exception of one Asian woman, I don't recall seeing any people of color in pictures from these protests.

Whether or not we think the person in the youtube video is wrong is our opinions. The person has a right to freedom of speech in this country. Their opinions may sound stupid but they still have every right to express them. Like how we have every right to express our opinions.
I'm not trying to suppress their opinion.

I'm saying their idiots. Which is my opinion.
No, you're saying they're idiots. I think it's obvious why spelling is important in cases like these.
Oh my god...
Did you really not know what I meant? You should try to contribute to the thread instead of correcting people's posts.
Ugh, no need to be rude!

a "/intentional irony" is all that is required.

(There is a hidden test in this post... and no matter what you do, you lose.)
Well don't feel too special. It'll take a retard not to get the joke, but still. Come on.
It appears that you're persisting with this joke (or do you just fail when it comes to grammar?)
/intentional ironie

Let's move past it.
Toot toot! /symbolism

You see? People like these give right-wingers a bad name. You know, Rush Limbaugh, Illiterate Rednecks #1-#623, Sarah-fucking-Palin.

I'd like to say I'm nothing like these people, but I may share some of their opinions. Just not so shouty.

I couldn't even get through the entire video.

I think people need to find out what socialism is before they condemn it.

I like how a lot of them aren't sure why they're there or what they're protesting and sort of make something up on the spot.
To be fair, you get that at pretty much any protest. Sometimes it's ignorance, sometimes people just lose track of the details in the heat of the moment.

I'm not saying there's no correlation or that these people really do get it or anything. Just that almost everybody stumbles a bit when you put 'em on the spot. ;-)

This article [http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/2009/08/fascist-america-are-we-there-yet.html] makes a pretty good case.

The nationalism is there. The culture of victimhood is there. The obsession with purity is there.

I'm sure that's true of most of those people, being put on the spot can definitely have that effect. I think what truly alarmed me was that most (regardless of whether they were able to articulate their anger coherently or not) didn't seem to have their facts or history quite straight.

There was a teenage boy who stood out to me; he seemed like he had no idea what he was talking about and later looked to an older woman for approval. I know everyone teaches their kids their own beliefs, it's something that is practically unavoidable. It just saddened and scared me in this instance due to the palpable fervor and intent involved, a feeling I'd still have if a group of liberals were acting the same way.

Also, that was an extremely interesting article. Somewhat horrifying, but interesting nonetheless. Thanks for posting it. :)

Yeah, the kid was the creepiest part.

This kid [http://i584.photobucket.com/albums/ss288/MoronsWithSigns/mccarthyismwasabaaadidea.jpg] freaks me out, too. Does he know who McCarthy was and what he did? I mean, like, really know?

(As an aside: yeah, we all load up our children with our own prejudices and baggage. I think good parenting demands a good-faith effort to teach your kids how to think rather than just what to think.)

It's funny how as soon as the reporter gives them any facts at all, they stand there with their mouths hanging open like the 'tards they are.
