Shadow Teddie in Persona 4.

Damn, that took forever.
Which makes going back through the game with Yositsune and demolishing everything very satisfying.

OT: Any boss form star ocean 4 becasue the developers confused difficult with insane amounts of HP. Probably took me better part of 2-3 hours to beat the final boss. Nyx from P3 took me a while as well but that's just because I accidentally let a confused Ken full heal her when she near death.

Haha THANKYOU! I've been trying to remember the name of that game for like 2 years! I got it confused with Space Station Silicon Valley :(

I do know the boss that felt the longest....

Vader from The Force Unleashed II. Or at least somebody wearing a Vader suit, I don't think it was Vader to be honest. The real Vader can't possibly be that slow...

Basically a boss for which they replaced any interesting mechanics with hit points and then decided the fight wasn't boring enough yet so they also swapped his entire AI for even more hit points. So now he just kinda stands there with his 10 bazillion hit points and occasionally a few weaker adds come in for you to kill. Ow, and he occasionally throws stuff at you which you have to throw back.....

Final boss in Bayonetta. Easily the longest boss fight I've ever fought.
Ya seriously. Plus...why??? I can't stand those boss levels (in any game) where it's just stage after stage after stage...I wish that level ended the very first time you run up hair.

Vader in Force Unleashed 2 was like that, just the same fighting and pattern over and over again and way too many "saber clashing" moments

Wasn't there some boss in Final Fantasy 11 that took 24 hours to defeat? Anyway, the Archdemon in Dragon Age Origins always took a lot of time for me to defeat. What with him flying around making me have to shoot him with the ballista which took forever.
DId it with out ballistas.....took forever

FFXII's Yiazmat with its 50 million HP will inevitably take some time. I usually clock in at about 2 hours.
My friend did this in about 12 hours lol he was super under levelled.

Vashj. Kael-Thas.

Not neccessarily long fights, but I can swear that the yaught I saw my repair vendor buy was either his fourteenth or his fifteenth.

In Dark Cloud (1), I had broken all my weapons on the boss in the Divine Beast Cave. So I used Xiao's broken Slingshot, just shooting the boss for literally HOURS! It was 1 damage each hit, so you can imagine.

Same situation for the Ice Queen later in Dark Cloud, but instead I used a large amount of bombs.

EDIT: This was way back when I was like ten. I had no clue how to play RPG's well.
I did the same thing in the Divine Beast Cave....everything broke and only the fookin slingshot left...dealing 1 dmg...and that fucker had 200 HP...took some time indeed xD

OT: Fable 2 boss fight took some time--Sorry...I keep draggin that one in to discussion when these topics appear =(

Really on topic: Hum...Last boss in Bayonette took me ages and Dark Genie final form in Dark Cloud took some time...ofc I had fully lvled 7th Heaven sword with elements so I did massive dmg, but gawd it was tedious and annoying to switch element back and forth to actually do massive dmg xD

Satan Morroc on Ragnarok.
Fucker alway takes from 4 to 6 hours to kill.

I remember hearing about a boss in FFXI that took a major Japanese guild days to try and kill.

Rayman 2; I didn't realize you could shoot the boss while he was down. He always takes a tiny bit of damage when you drop him in the lava, so I figured to just keep doing that. Took a verrrry long time.
O_O whole shit, I never knew that. I could never beat that guy...

Excuse me, I have a game to finish.

OT: The last boss of kingdom hearts 2. Kingdom hearts 1 had a long last boss to actually.

The Colossus from Dark Sector took me about 30 minutes.

Also, in 2moons there was this massive blue dragon as part of special event that took a few dozen people all damn day to kill. I didn't participate in that fight, but I did pass by it several times when I was doing quests.

Vader from Force Unleashed 2.

That sure was a handful of salt in a 5-hour wound...eh, it was some easy Gamerscore at the very least...

I remember Ultimicia from FF8 took me a long time to beat, or it seemed like it did anyway, it wasn't even a hard battle it just seemed to go on and on and on
I kinda broke the game at that point (didn't even mean to), so I used Aura, then spammed limits. Lionheart is nice and all, but for the most part, I one-shotted each phase with Duel. Shortest final boss ever in an FF game, except maybe Kefka. He was kind of a pushover too.

While I haven't played much of FF12, let alone that part of it, I suspect Yiazmat wins this one.

If you count all the grinding I had to do on a new character just to have any chance of being high enough level when it rolled around: Velius from Final Fantasy Tactics. Holy moly, is it ever all down hill from there difficulty wise...

Twin Emps in AQ40 in WOW, chaining greater heal for 40 mins or so was such good fun -.- and The council in Black Temple...dear god just make it end.
This. There were a TON of long fights in WoW, which took longer considering how hard it was to get 25-40 people to pay attention long enough not to screw up, but those two especially stand out for me. I think Kael'Thas was also a pretty long fight, and I'm sure there are others but I remember those the most.
