Lost respect to todays youth

Damn, I knew some kids like when I lived in Leeds (it's in the north of England for our Escapist friends in other countries), but if I'm honest they weren't as bad.
I know that completely ignorant little brats are annoying, hell I think I used to be one to a degree, so I can empathise with what happened.
Not much to discuss really but damn, those kids are dicks.
Also, would you count me as a youth? I'm 17.

Are you seriously going to sit there and tell me that I'm not allowed to scare them off from causing harm to me or damage to my property? Please note that I didn't say "I'm going to go out with no warning and kill those sorry excuses for humanity with extreme prejudice." and instead said that I would try to scare them off in such a manner that they wouldn't do so again before resorting to the use of force.

Of course, the shotgun would come out after the police were called. You see, the use of force is allowed to be met by enough force to stop the crime. If they're throwing something at my home, where I'm supposed to be safe, I'm going to assume that they mean me harm. That means that I'm going to stop them before they harm me. I don't really see how that's a bad thing. Now, if they were throwing toilet paper, whatever, but these guys were throwing rocks.

Have you seen the youth today? This isn't just something they've always done. What the OP's problem is, is something minor but todays youth are becoming more deviant and anti-social than before and constantly terrorize people, are un-educated, are bad in their behaviour within schools and in general... just worse.

I fucking hate todays youth. And I'm 16, I see the youth everyday. Obviously its not all of us, but its quite a large amount.

Stupid things that youths do...I was 6ft 2 years ago when I was in year 12...Kids half my size tried to pick fights with me for no damn reason. That, my friends, is the lack of a survival instinct and therefore it is something I like to refer to as 'pure idiocy'.

I'm really glad to be out of high school, so I don't have to witness that stupid shit anymore. We had gang fights about once a month, and when that wasn't happening, a lot of people were just ignorant and failed to respect proper authority.

The thing is, what you describe is not *today's* youth, it's simply youth.

My stepfather sometimes tells me the story of how his brother hijacked a tram, an actual, working tram, from the depot when he was 16, because he absolutely loved trams.
He was too young to work there yet so he just hijacked one and did a pretty good job of driving it along its route.
Difference is, today his brother would be jailed for years, back in the 60's they gave him a stern talking to and a promise of a job once he turned 18. He actually still works there to this day.

My grandfather used to tell me about when he went stealing apples from orchards or, I shit you not, during WW2 in occupied Belgium as a 13 year old boy writing profanity on German vehicles with a piece of charcoal.
Or stealing a horse to take it for a joyride, returning it unharmed but stealing nevertheless.

Long story short, today's youth does the same things our fathers and grandfathers did, it's just more visible and we are extremely quick to equate juvenile shenanigans with "OMGWTFCRIME, children should be stoned to death!".

I am kinda tired of people complaining about how bad "todays youth" this, when they have obviously forgotten about what THEY did as a teenager, and what there parents did as a teenager as well.

Time for some people to realise that it is EVERY youth that does these kind of things, maybe then people will stop complaining.

im 16 and I'm already looking at my fellow students with disgust. Too many of them don't bother thinking about the future, only about getting a giggle out of a stupid prank (im not against prank's, providing they're clever). To be honest though, what made me lose all respect was when the little *cough*cough* keep walking into me in corridors. Can't get from one side of the school to the other without at least 5 or 6 people walking straight into me.

Anyone who read one of my older threads will know i have had vandalism problems in my area for some time. Lastnight's events just tops it off and has made me lost all respect to the young.

Anyway, i was out lastnight (i have a wicked hangover and a cold atm, ignore the errors).
I woke up this morning (feeling like P Diddy) and my Dad told me about a gang of 15 kids outside throwin stones at the window. We get this alot because my dad chases them and they love the thrill.

Well this time is different my dad went outside on the phone to the police and the one of the gang asked "why arnt you chasing us?"

Anyway long story short my dad told them about his medical conditions and my mothers, both involing heart troubles and disabilties. The group said sorry, the didnt know but to top it off, one of them asked this:


"Do you know anyone who would chase us?"
