Threads about Magic make me smile.

Anywho, don't really have a favorite color, though all 4 of my decks atm (2 for standard, 2 for EDH) are part white, so I guess that's my go-to color.

<spoiler= Second favorite card :D>http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=198383&type=card

<spoiler= Also. my LEST favorite card. Seriously, if you guys want to know why this thing is broken just take a good long look...there's a reason it's nearly $100 a card>http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=195297&type=card

EDIT- Wow, good to see I'm not fully awake yet. Couple more additions to the list

<spoiler= Another fantastic card that was my "go-to" when it was in standard>http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=189145&type=card

<spoiler= And one more just all around annoying card. Sometimes Wizard really makes me wonder what their idea of "Balance" is>http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=185053&type=card

Oh, you don't have to spend a whole 7 mana to put an Eldrazi into play. My preferred method works on the first turn:

Okay, opponent, I now have one of these in play:

Your turn.

I know this will sound off or bad but- what do you mean by deck list if I may ask?
A deck list is simply a list of all the cards in the deck, and their number. It's useful to post them if you want someone to critique your deck and suggest improvements.

You'll need 9 mana, btw (you need to pay the Entwine cost if you don't have it in your hand yet).

A quick question on Protection: is it still in effect even if the creature is in the graveyard? Cuz if that's the case, I don't think you can Animate Dead/Exhume Emrakul.

This really brings back memories... I was really enthralled by this way back when MD5 was Standard. That is, until I hit the realization that this hobby was making my poor college boy ass even poorer.

Oh shit. Green land engine with Tooth and Nail. If Tooth and Nail can't get the job done, the sheer amount of lands in your possession will.
Yes, Myself and some friends made my decklist and that was part of it. Only problem was that I forgot to order any T&N. Or any cards that put things into play from my hand. Though I do have some Fierce Empaths and plan to get some T&Ns and Elvish Pipers.
Oh yea, and Hand of Emrakul. Those are fun.

I make any colour deck really but it always ends up using the Green strategy: Big creatures quickly. My most recent (And best) deck, the one I currently play with, is a Red/Green Eldrazi deck specifically made so that depending on which cards I draw, it can be a "SUMMON THE ELDRAZI! MUHAHA SMASHY TIME!" deck or a swarm of 2/2's thanks to Broodwarden.

Of course, having 2 Eldrazi Conscriptions helps.
There are still ways around Eldrazi, like killing you really quickly or just putting in some removal with the addition of leyline of anticipation. Boom Day of Judgement, Damnation, Journey to Nowhere etc.
Well, fortunately something like Journey to Nowhere doesn't affect my biggest Eldrazi (Protection from coloured spells!) and the rest, well I'll look on the bright side. They all go to my graveyard and if one of the big Eldrazi are out, they ALL go back into my deck because of the Eldrazi's effect. Fun.

You kids and your new school. I can see why some of the new stuff is good, but I miss openly playing old school cards like Mana Drain, and slightly newer school cards like Force of Will.

I know how you feel. I quit playing back when Ice Age was new. But back then, I played White/Red. I played Red and Black were colors that I didn't have multiple friends that played them, so I could trade for their cards on the cheap. I dropped Black because I didn't like the self-destructive style, but Red's "things go boom" was awesome. I eventually added White because I felt it was the best color to add-in for some defensive purposes.

I run Blue, Blue/Black, or Blue/Red. I like being able to shut opponents completely down.

I don't really play magic, but if I had to pick? I'd go with black.
Black is ambition. Black is ruthlessness. Black is sacrifice. It suits my personality, in the form that I will go to great lengths to win it all.

I'm new to magic, but I have to say I prefer blue and light as a secondary, I like the idea of "Slow and Steady" and am pretty careful with other things as well...

Although this deviates a bit from the topic at hand, I haven't really played much magic games, and I was wondering, what happens if you don't draw a land card in your first hand? I mean, the one (very short) time I did play, I only drew one island card, used that, and the next card I drew wasn't any land card either, since my hand was full and I had nothing I could summon, I really couldn't do anything, couldn't draw another card, couldn't summon monsters, none of that.

So, is there some way in the rules to get around this or what?
Official rules say you may mulligan, you shuffle your hand back into your deck and draw six cards, if you don't like that you may do it again for five, technicly you ca keep doing it but after you hit about four there's not much point.

OT: My favourite couler is Green, large creatures, large numbers and constant buffing.
My favourite deck is my green black thalid deck, countless sapprolings, a herd gnar, fallen ideal and a willingness to sacrifice about two hundered creatures at once tend to make opponents cry.

well i have a few:

I have a pretty much unbeaten dark steel artefact (colourless to the non players) affinity deck (its funny when u get a dark steel colossus on the table most people throw in the towel lol)

but I only tend to get that out when new people tip up to games night boasting about how good they are.

I have a red shivan dragon deck (first deck I ever built about 10 years ago)
a red and black eldrazi deck (interesting block but gets a bit dull after a few games)

I have a blue deck manipulation, deck that i'm still refining (you always need a project lol) but i did pick up this recently:

..That.. is seriously without a doubt the most overpowered card I have ever came across. That right there would dominate and I give you Congrats for having such a unique card! *Impressed* Oh and your other card

Even though I say the first card is literally my #1 of dominator, this card above is also very powerful and I would really not want to take you on with such a deck with the like of these cards.. Haha.
You're awfully new to this, I assume. Most games of Magic are over long before even 10 mana is conceivable to be out on the table. Much less 15. I can't think of too many cards that would help you get this out on the table that are still in circulation. Black Lotus, Sol Ring, Dark Ritual, Channel maybe. Even if you had them, I doubt anyone would play against that deck. For obvious reasons.
The Scars of Mirrodin set has a card called Clone Shell that, if the card is within the next four cards you would draw, you can set it face down while clone shell is out, then when clone shell is destroyed, BOOM, instead doomsday beastie.

IMO, if a card costs more than 5 mana, it had better say "Opponent loses next turn."

A true M:tG fan knows exactly what I'm getting at.
Edited due to after thought:

I agree with that in a lot of cases although i'd settle for some other things written on on the card (Iona shield of Emeria comes to mind)

but anything in my decks that costs more than 5 mana I don't generally have to pay 5 mana to use
u get cards like that on the table using other mechanics.

for example the collossus costs me 0 mana coz it is in an affinity deck
the sphinx I will find a way to get that out free or cheaply but i'm still working on that deck.

and as for your comments on the eldrazi u obviously haven't been keeping up with the times the eldrazi may seem insanely expensive cards but the mechanic of that block allows for it. through the use of eldrazi spawn i have seen 15 mana eldrazi spells out in 2 turns using that block's mechanic.
