Does this guy remind anyone of the dude who shot Lennon? They seem parallel to me in that both of them adored and wanted something so badly, but they couldn't have it, so eventually it becomes a symbol of hate and anger, then they go do something like that. For Mark Chapman the symbol of loathing was Lennon, for this guy it was women.

Is there a name for this type of thinking? If not, there should be.
The ironic thing is that he hated what he wanted.

I feel sorry for both the killer and the victim but more the victim because that guy must be in an unstable state but the women did nothing towards him

In some ways, I think shooting the women was a symbolic form of rape for him. He finally 'scored' with these women.
you know, i like that interpretation. it has a sort of Law and Order Criminal Minds feel to it - very accurate and realistic. i didn't even think that maybe that's what he was thinking. I guess we'll never know though, huh..

Did anyone ever think for a second that the reason women didn't want anything to do with him is because he was a weirdo? I have a friend who is a 26 year old virgin because of his attitude towards women. They don't like him because he's bitter and he's bitter because they don't like him. I don't relate to him in any way nor feel empathy, his lack of social life was clearly his own doing and because he didn't have the balls to change it he made others suffer for it. .
and we are talking about a "friend" of yours right? Jeez with friends like you who needs enemies?

also check your spelling dude, no one likes to see poor spelling/grammar cause you sat down and decided to rage type...

My two cents now, I see where the empathy for this guy comes from, but his actions unfortunately do not endear me toward him. the fact that 12 casualties were inflicted by a man who could have solicited a prostitute for the same amount of money as i would take to purchase guns, ammo, and possible time at a gun range is extremely sad.
So to put it plainly I think this whole situation that could have been remedied by legal prostitution.
But a society that looks at mental diseases with more emotion than just blind contempt would be helpful.

The guy should have gotten a hooker and called it a day.

Or he should have gone here:

That guy was a crazy, selfish bastard.
I find it hard to believe that he tried to find a girlfriend for 29 years, and didn't find any.
And he felt that everyone that didn't embrace him rejected him.

I feel no empathy for him at all.

My goodness, this is a tragedy. A lot of that diary seems pretty clear, and it doesn't seem like he couldn't have been stopped. I don't know. I have similar problems. I'm not his age, but I would never resort to this sort of violence. *Sigh*

The guy obviously had a mental problem due to his loneliness.
It's a tragedy.

Cognitive Dissonance Theory. He was holding both ideas of adoration and loathing towards women until disassociation took place and he went into a brief psychotic disorder to achieve closure. Or that's my take on it.

Crap.
Is this how I'm going to end up?
I don't see why he had to murder three people. It doesn't matter either way, once you're dead.
