I'm playing FF13 at the moment...I'm in Chapter 10 of 11...and I have to say, in my opinion, the two are very, very different in feel. ME2 has choice...and FF13 (at least in Chpts 1-10) doesn't. The combat has totally different feelings as well. Also, FF13, for me, was very much: Walk, fight, cutscene, walk, fight, cutscene. ME2 doesn't function that way at all. There is no maneuvering in combat in FF13 in the way there is in ME2. Combat in FF13 is in special "combat space." Which is interesting...though I think I enjoyed the strict chess-like turn based combat of Enchanted Arms over the hybrid of FF13. Now, I'm not hating on FF13. I think it is a good game. It isn't my most favorite ever, but that's okay, and I am enjoying it. I'm interested in finding out how the story ends.thelastmccabe said:I played the demo on PS3 expecting to be blown away, and I wasn't particularly impressed. The introductory sequence was really cool, but after that it seemed to be just running down very samey looking corridors and then popping out and shooting stuff. I'm not trying to be a troll when I say this, but it sort of reminded me of FF 13 to be honest. I was running down a hallway, engaging in somewhat boring combat, watching a cutscene / dialogue, and then repeating that.
To be honest thats how i felt about the first game acting was borring the dialogues were yawn, combat was crap, the enemies just run up to your face rather taking cover, directon of the cutscenses was weak, maps were borring corridoers and the story? MY GOD how people say thats a good story? Or perhaps just me having watched ton of sci fi shows and seeing nothing new here. Also full of plot holes, feels like they developed what will happen next as they were working on the game rather writing a script prior to it.Konatacalypse said:Hooray I get to spew more hate on Mass Effect 2.
I hate Mass Effect 2.
The story was filled with plot holes. Half of the characters are morons ("Well our enemy has laid a trap for us. Lets ask Shepard go investigate, even though they killed her and destroyed her ship without any trouble last time, and despite the fact that we spent billions of credits trying go bring her back to life derp"). Both female and male Shepard's voice actors are terrible. The combat was the some of the most tedious, boring, lackluster, shit I have ever seen. Also Bioware had some weird idea that if something didn't work well in ME1 it should just be thrown out completely.
Mass Effect 2 was dog shit. Well made, well presented dog shit, but still dog shit.
You know, I agree and disagree with this.Zenron said:The first thing is the world(or galaxy... whatever). They've scoped out an entire history behind the series. That's not unique, but the history is actually interesting.

THIS DOG DIES.
This is one of the best games I have ever played. Great story, compelling universe, good gameplay. Before I restarted, I had 27 hours logged, still had many stuff to do, and was never bored. PS3 gameplay at least flows very well, I assume it would for the Xbox too, at least.
Word of warning: If you DO buy this game, when you go to get the IFF (You will know) DO NOT GET IT IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER MISSIONS TO DO. It's the first of the end-game missions (save one optional mission afterwards), and you will miss out if you do it right away.
OFFT: How do you add text in the spoiler box (to delete SPOILER: Click to view, that is)? Haven't a clue.
Because their opinions are different than yours?genericusername64 said:I feel like I'm missing something, Why is everyone in love with this game?
