Mass Effect 3 Appears on EA Store, Disappears Very Quickly

It's Mass Effect 3. This is so bittersweet, on one hand IT'S FREAKIN' MASS EFFECT 3! On the other, that's so anticlimactic, Mass Effect 3 isn't a surprise, it's an inevitability.

You pretty much summed up my opinions here. We all knew Mass Effect 3 was coming :/

(And Shepard creating an alliance of the various species, like asari, turian, salarian, rachni, quarian, etc. in ME3 is to be expected. Sure, it sounds kind of like Dragon Age, but execution is key, and people have been talking about this since shortly after ME2 was released.)

I should say the surprise isn't the game, but its dull plot. Earth? Of all the fun places they could have conjured in their universe. I hope this is all some massive mistake.

I'd like Earth to be visitable in ME3. Obviously not the whole game there, but it'll be interesting to see first-hand what Earth is like in the ME universe.

That's the lamest "reveal" ever considering everybody already knew there was gonna be a ME 3 before the first one was even released.

What if it's a game set on Earth shortly after the Reapers attack? A game to bridge the gap between Mass Effect 2 and 3. It would explain why the soldier with the sniper rifle doesn't look like the "stock" male Shep they've had for the art. Also, since we know the Reapers use sleeper agents, he could be lining up a shot on the woman, the boy, or the person running toward them because he knows the target is a danger to the other two.

Or it could be Mass Effect 3.

And something that's been pointed out to me: allegedly the released clues and upon (really) close examination of the teaser trailer & released screen shot it points to something in London. (allegedly you can see part of Big Ben & Parliament among other iconic London sights)

If this is the first time you're questioning EA's marketing strategies, you have a long LONG way to catch up.

Me and a select few of my friends still occasionally use the quip "It's probably just more viral marketing for Dante's Inferno." Man, that shit was biblical. (No pun intended.)

Also, there's no way that the reapers are attacking earth directly. It took two entire damn fleets (Citadel + Alliance support) to take down one. They're probably just throwing radiation at it, or indoctrinating the whole planet, or something similarly Reaper-esque. You're probably going to need to develop some sort of Super Relay to whoosh to them and blow them to pieces with your similarly-Super Bomb. Which hey, works for me.
