More immersion when it comes to levels & cities... Mass Effect did this great. You could walk around the entire part of the citadel, from Wards all the way up to the towers, Csec & presidium.. it felt real. Is ME2, you're bound to 3 floors.. which are tiny. No Presidium.. no walking. Just elevators.
And the Normandy as well.. same. In ME1, you can walk throughout the Normandy. This gives it a sense of reality- you can see whats where & why. In ME2, again.. ELEVATORS! Damn it BioWare... ME2 Normandy was sick.. but if only you could give the option- either be lazy and take the lift, or walk up & down the ship like in ME1.
This really broke the immersion/reality for me.
Oh, and just.. BIGGER... the size of Citadel, Illium, Tutchanka, Omega.. TINNNNNY. ME1 Citadel was perfect for me. I could wander around and feel.. well, immersed.
There is like.. NO RPG in ME2... bah. I understand, Bioware wanted to "Streamline" it.. bullshit. They just took it out. They went waaaay too OTT.. they went from too much RPG (which I loved), to no RPG in ME2.. ME2 is just a shooter, with fake RPG in it. (a basic levelling system.. no armour/weapons... bah. I'd rather ME1, when you way way too many weapons/armour. At least you could pick the best, and SELL the rest.. There is not enough money in ME2).
A LOOTING system! Mass Effect 1 was perfect- you don't have to go to every single body and press "A" to loot, but you GET loot from enemies automatically... and you can use them, sell them, keep them. Whatever.. goes back to my other point- RPG!
Let's hope in ME3, BioWare gets it right. Mass Effect 1 was too RPG for most, Mass Effect 2 way way too little RPG & overboard on shooter, which I hate. Hopefully ME3 can incorporate a good amount of RPG, with a bit more sassy combat system in ME1.
TBH, I had no problem with the combat in ME1.
