Fable 2. Now, I know it has a lot of detractors, but it still received some glowing reviews. Overall, though, I just don't see the appeal. It's an interesting game engine that's crippled by lack of interesting or challenging content.
Yeah, yeah, see my edit. San Andreas was good, but number 4 concentrated far too much on "realism" and then failed there as well. The only thing I love about it is flying out of my windshield or jumping from as high as possible. Oh and the story is much better than that "gangsta" BS in SA.
Call of Duty War at World. I laugh at it's redundant and the irrelevant zombie mode. "Hurr durr it's a WWII game but with zombies!" Don't see why it's map packs are the top downloads on PSN.

Any of the fucking HALO games. I personally never really got the Super-Smash-Bros games so I'll put them up there too. MGS4 is a cert. WOW for obvious reasons, (I say that as a non-WOW player, I just hate the damn thing.) Eve Online I to the the whole online experience was very disapointed with, I muched prefered Freelancer for that particular genre. Saying that, I'm not really into the whole 'Online Experience' so maybe I'm just a hermit.

Skies of Arcadia for the Gamecube. I understand that it was the only jrpg on the system at the time, but damn. It's got the longest most boring battles and the highest encounter rate of any jrpg I've ever played. That plus the typically horrid voice acting and almost deliberately uninspired weapon design (our attack-defense method incorporates elements, so let's make every weapon a translucent primary color) ruined it for me. That said, I played it late in the GCN's life cycle and 3d games do not age well.
That said, FFVII takes the cake by default. It's a great game but no game can live up to the hype this title's got surrounding it.

OMG yes! Resident Evil 5 was such a god awful disappointment. i'm so glad that game was a rental. if i had bought it i'd be pulling my hair out over the wasted money.
