The first thing that came to mind upon seeing this thread title was the word "Zoroaster," the prophet of that ancient Middle-Eastern religion. Then I realized that that couldn't possibly be the etymological source material for this Pokemon, as that's a real world religion, which these family-friendly games avoid like the plague, with the one exception being that Scientology/Heaven's Gate Space-Cult Team Galactic.
The second thing that came to mind was: "Oooh! It's cool lookin'! I want one!"
The third thing was the realization common to many viewers of this thread: that this new Pokemon is not very original in its design. It's a shame, really. These games doggedly focus on the Pokemon themselves and less on the world around them. I mean, we've gone through four generations and we still have no idea how basic things like government and military work, or if this series takes place on a parallel Earth or some completely fictional planet (there were a few references to the former in the 1st generation, I know).
How about this, Game Freak? How about you keep in the core elements of Pokemon training/battling/catching and exploration intact, but throw a huge curveball on the setting and plot, and maybe introduce some more complex themes and motives than "to be a master?" Here's one idea right off the top of my head: set the next game in the middle of a big ol' war. Have two warring factions: perhaps governments, perhaps crimal Teams, perhaps both, and the protagonist chooses sides or stays neutral, thus making the objective to not only become a powerful trainer, but to stop the fighting and survive in the war-torn countryside. Crap, would you even have to introduce any new Pokemon for that one? Alas, I feel this is all an unwarranted rant, since we know nothing else about the upcoming games beyond speculation and pattern-recognition. I'm no psychic (but you should get the option of being one in the games!) so I can't say for sure if this will be a continuation of the same old problems or the beginning of a glorious new golden age. Or should I say, Gold and Silver age. Ha ha.
