Metal Gear and the Xbox 360...what's the big deal?

I think you are all forgetting that while most electronics do in fact have the power-up icon, none of them are really associated with it the way the 360 is to it's power up lights. (Largely thanks to the RRoD).

That's what I wanted to say. While I believe this relates to Acid on the iPhone (or whatever), you can't really say 'That's not a 360 on switch, it's a PC on switch', since no other product relates itself to the on switch in any way.

Off topic, I wish I was a big-name game designer so I could mess with fans and anti-fans alike.

The 360 doesn't purposefully do that either, its only due to its shoddy craftmanship that it is associated with it. Its like saying that any ad that depicts fat stupid and dangerous people must be from the American Tourism board, because Americans are the people most closely associated with that behavioral pattern.

Yes, but Microsoft didn't make the teaser. Calm down, I know you're in a frothy rage and everything, but I don't actually believe that any MGS game is coming to the Xbox 360, for a multitude of reasons. But suggesting that the symbol is an 'on' switch for another product is a lot more ridiculous than suggesting it's the Xbox 360's 'on' switch.

I honestly don't care, I found the game to be rather mediocre when I played it on a friend's console. But to answer your question, I agree, PS3 owners have been holding out for good exclusives, looking at their console as a long term investment, but with FFXIII turning, LittleBigPlanet and MGS4 are the only (allegedly) good exclusives they have

first of all i'll admit that i'm a fanboy of the MGS series but that doesn't mean i'm a iggnorrant one

1. playing MGS4 on a friends house WILL INDEED make you not like it the same thing happend to my other friend (he thought it was shit i convinced him to buy and 2 weeks later he comes to me saying its AMAZING)

2. it's not because of the exclusive thing............ for MGS4 to go to 360 its the fact it will set off another chain reaction of console wars on foroums and nobody wants to go through that again ( i know i don't wanna shout in caps lock to other people on a foroum about consoles) .

I thought that image was about the new metal gear acid game on the iphone, why do people think it means its coming to the 360? more on topic, people get pissed off because mgs has been a long time sony excluive, so its kind of shocking to the fanboys to see it branching out.

It was on the gamecube and xbox too at one point, I think GCN had a remake of the original, and xbox got MGS2. Not to mention PC ports.

Does anyone know if this is a genuine video from Konami or just some fanmade youtube release to promote speculation? I didnt see anything convincing in the video but like I said I dont care enough to put more time in than just asking.
I think less exclusives would make my hobby far easier as a gamer of limited financial resources.
I did hear that MGS4 was Kojimas last MGS so if there was another game in the series without his input I would buy it on any platform. Personaly I would love to see a next gen remake of the origional 8-bit game especialy in light of the new information from Snake Eater.

The PS3 justifies itself. I don't know why people always ***** at me because I bought a PS3 for however much I bought it for. It was my choice I stand by it. - If the price tags were reversed would you have bought a PS3 instead?

I think it's pretty clear you've got a problem with PS3 owners. To be honest it smells of jealousy. Have Metal Gear, yawn fest. Have it all. Red Rings all round as the machines try to keep up with the new releases.

I would like Alan Wake though, wanna trade for a Bluray drive?

I don't care what you say. One of the big appeals that the PS3 has is their supposed exclusive MGS4.

I can actually confirm this. I know three separate people who bought PS3 just to play MG4. None of them were happy about it (I think two sold back the systems already...), but they had to finish the series.

As someone just getting into the next-gen of consoles (getting my 360 come the holidays), I'm a big fan of the exclusivity clause. You can have your game on your console for 6 months to a year. After that, it's fair game for everyone. I don't see the problem there.

But that may be my deep need for MGS4 talking. I must play it. My life is incomplete until I do. :considers renting a PS3 for a week....:

Then theres the entire Psycho Mantis Boss Fight, complete with Psycho being defeated by the Ps3 itself. Since the 360 has the vulnerabilities of the PsX, that would fall to pieces.

Oooooh, or they could do it straight and have Mantis confused by the new, strange console. And if Kojima is a real bastard, he can mock the player for not going for the PS3. I think it'd be awesome.

Well, I think that the teaser means it's coming to PC. After all, my PC's power button looks kind of like the last thing, and glows green. Also, the two 'i's are from Personil Computir. Also, the website is on the internet, which you view on a DUN DUN DUN... PC. QED.

Seriously though, at this point, it's pointless to argue about a very cryptic teaser. On a side note, the first thing I thought when I saw it was "Metal Gear Spanish?" due to the upside down exclamation mark, or i, or whataver it is.

about the thread..the fact that a ps3 exclusive game might come out for another system is another reason for 360 fanboys to state that "360 is teh beter dan shitstation3" and that is the big deal..in my humble opinion of course
