Best role - Scott Pilgrim, but thats because the film is so good itself.

I don't have a particularly opinion of him, maybe just on the negative side of neutral. I wouldn't avoid a film because he was in it but I don't see him as an asset to a film.

I think a lot of you seem to be under the assumption that because his only role so far has been awkward teenager, that's all he can do. Wait until he get's some different roles, then judge.

I liked him in scott pilgrim, but probably because I have a very strong appreciation for sarcastic/satyrical humor and seeing possibly the scrawniest dork in the industry flipping around doing dragon ball z type shit amused the hell out of me.

I think what's really annoying isn't the character he plays in every movie, but Hollywood some how thinking he's this great talent that speaks to today's youth....>>

Now after Scott Pilgrim, I'm pretty sure we're going to be seeing a lot of hipster movies, or Hollywood's impressions of what that culture supposedly represents. Lord help us all!

But...

Then again SPvsWorld did sorta tank at the box office, hmmm?....maybe for the best!....=D

His best role was young Gordy in Frequency, admittedly he was ten but he's not improved since then.

People complain about him being a one note actor and that's because the note he plays is bad.

Most people like the one note Stallone et al plays

Ah...he's good in Arrested Development. Only because that's my favorite show of all time.
It saddens me that more people aren't saying stuff like this.

Check the avatar and username. I think he is/ was brilliant but due to the fault of him/ his agent/ casting directors he has not been able to break his typecast.

He definitely seems to coast sometimes and pick meh scripts. He is in very real danger of just being a child actor that fades away (as most do).

I actually really like him, he's the one "Comedy" actor in mainstream movies whose entire shtick isn't just chewing the scenery relentlessly, he's restrained, and very dryly funny.

Either zombieland or scott pilgrim, I have disliked him in anything else.
He was in Zombieland? I think you're getting him mixed up with another actor who plays an arkward teenager.

I'll give him credit, although he's good at being the awkward teenager, he can do something different when he feels like it. Youth in Revolt and Scott Pilgrim gave him more range.

He's monolithic. He does a pretty good job at being an awkward teenager, but he seems to be incapable of any other role. So as an actor... good in the right role. Which is both a good and bad thing.

But for the record, I think anyone that refuses to see a movie just because a certain actor is in it (Cera included) is an idiot. One actor you don't like doesn't magically make every other aspect of the movie suck. Related example, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The movie is awesome, regardless of Cera. Stop being stupid and go see it, people.
Ya know, this is a pretty good idea that doesn't get spread around enough. I still can't understand the Cera-hate. I go to see a movie not because of an actor, but because it has a good premise that I can enjoy. Ex. I saw Zombieland because it was a comedy, even if my family didn't like it. I saw SP because Expendables looked like it was trying too hard. But that's just me.

He's 22, born a year before me. I'm not a creeper.
