Will this do more good or harm to society? I wonder...

Now I have a prominent new contender to blame the school shootings of tommorow on (other contenders are child leashes and the internet)
I think they'd go for Milo - I mean - the TV first. God, that little guy's so lifelike I almost thought there was no television framing him! Or Peter Molyneux...

Joking aside, I just wanted to point out that although I like the look of this new technology and I like the potential that this has for RPGs and things like that, I've never liked watching Molyneux describe what's going on. He consistently states the obvious and takes the magic away from what I'm watching.

Brilliant quote from last years E3 (guess which game he was talking about):
"When people see this, they will say 'that is a dog. I know that is a dog'".

The death of imaginary friends... finally, I can stop imagining all together now(!) XD

I would just get in arguements with him accidently... on purpose.

Thats very impressive, I would love to see this kind of interactivity put into his next project. Simply astounding.

Oh snap. If everyone in my copy of GTA who has dead family members becuase of me, wants revenge, then I am SO fucked. Even if I had a tank, damn, ten tanks, I wouldnt win that. CUZ ITS A LOT OF FREAKING PEOPLE.
Yeah, it would add another layer to the game, and actually make you think of the concequences of your actions. Maybe you would find a child who's parents you killed, and it makes you feel bad. Plus, many other games could benifit, mainly RPG's

Molyneux's done more games than just Fable, y'know. He also did the Black and White series and Populous. Not sure what promises he may or may not have made and subsuquently broken concerning these games, but I thought they were pretty good.
Yeah, I know, I was speaking mainly of the Fable games, they were decent games on their own, Peter just talked them up so much people expected so much more than what was delivered. Its like a pizza place promising outstanding toppings on a pizza you order, and when you finally get the pizza all there is is cheese. The pizza may be cooked to perfection and taste great, but you still didn't get your toppings.

The end of the world begins. Who knew it was going to be Microsoft causing the enslavement of the human race by AI?

Well, this could actually be really useful. Sometimes when I want to play a game, I get into my brother's saved game instead of my own. Luckily, Milo will remember my face and load the right saved game for me.

Other than that, I don't see it being really useful in the future.

And is it just me, or does the water start to ripple before she dips her hand in? *cough*prerendered*cough*

Okay, if they put this technology replacing the conversations in RPGs like Mass Effect and Fallout 3, it would be AMAZING.

How will this make games? I can imagine this as a concept idea, but nothing more for now. I just don't see the gameplay into it.
That is why you are not in the business.
The next generation in casual games. I can't see any hardcore gamers playing with this unless they were lonely.

If they used this kind of technology to interact with people in the next Fable games, this could be the biggest thing since sliced gaming bread.

Seems like a really cool concept, but I doubt it will actually work as well as demonstrated...

Just noticed, they're using SoftImage|XSI for modelling their characters, that's pretty cool :3

he should not have made it human, it should have been an ape, a dog, a mutated lizard. anything but human.

Looks really cool. Project natal?

I liked how it scanned the paper and the kid picked it out of her hands.

I thought Milo was absolutely jaw-dropping... I can see the future application of what this can evolve into..

Take a game like Oblivion or metal gear solid...
Now apply this technology.

You should then understand that the erection in your pants is a completely natural reaction.

The technology intrigues me and leads me to wonder what can be done with it in future, but it also kind of creeps me out and worries me in regards to how it will be used in the gaming industry.

Hmmm.... interesting concept...

But I have to wonder how fool proof this is, and whether or not it'd truly pass the test for fooling a person (even a member of the general public).

We'll see. Always best to see with Peter, who does shoot his mouth off WAAAAAAY too much.

EDIT: And Peter? They have imagined it, written about it, etc, etc. I'm pretty sure than interactive AI characters have been a corner stone of sci-fi for a long damn time. I'm not knocking the fact that you and the Natal thing seem to have achieved it, but for the love of god, do a little abit of research before you make the claim of having a fully independent idea.
