Best analysis of the game I've ever seen, besides maybe Caffeine's Review of Society. I racked up 12 days gametime across CoD4 and MW2 before I decided I didn't want a heart attack. Only one thing I disagree with: Commando never annoyed me. If that's what we have to take as a replacement for Juggernaut then I am quite happy to live with it.
It still lives... now in pill form for daily supplement.

wouldnt the multiplayer have been a lot better if they released a beta for it? then they could have fixed all the problems (or most of them)
Hang on... I thought it was a beta? You mean that's the actual game???
oh SNAP!

Ya, that rage about sums up my relationship with Guild Wars. Get mad at the game, scream, turn it off, then play later.

I loved COD4. Then this game came out. And I am never buying another COD game again. End of Story.

So I ask you no matter what list(game mode) you play; does your team get over powered? ( 65-200)
When I play with 4 or 5 buddies we do pretty well. Win most games, even if our K:D suffers due to going for objectives.

When I play alone, I can go 30-3 in one game and struggle to go positive for the rest of the night.

I'd identify with this, except I am that camper who gets the nuke :)

The Commando fucks make me rage like all hell though.

This sort of thing would happen to me all the time but I just kept coming back, so to keep that from ever happening again I took my copy of MW 2 and smashed it with a stick. Immediately after doing so I felt as if a curse had been lifted and was happier than ever.
I've never regretted that decision.

In a way, I don't blame you.

That's how the game is designed so of course people will exploit the most efective tactic.

Wow, that's extreme!

I quit the game for 3 months, went back for a week last month then quit again. I feel so much better without it.

i think they key thing is that once you play MW1 online after number 2 you realize that it is fun and MW2 just has the illusion of fun

I never understood why MW got so popular. Yeah it's not bad but in the end alot of times kills (especially in MW2) comes down to who gets the drop on someone else first. I have and always will prefer Halo 3 to COD4.

Never! I just get incredibly lucky sometimes. But I have a strict no-camping rule. I got very lucky on Crash once and ended up basically destroying thier spawn and then getting a Pave Low that was being driven by Chuck Norris. Hello 26-kill streak!

As for the boosters.... it's soooo much fun to find them and kill them, wait for the tactical insertion to bring them back and kill them again!

Halo allows for much more skillful play IMO. When two people go head on the better player is going to win 99% of the time.

How is outmaneuvering someone, so you get behind the enemies lines, or flank them / let them run past you not skillfull play, if I may ask?

i just went back to cod4 with a girlfriend (as in female friend, not like..y'know) and it was soooooo much fun..never had that kind of fun with mw2 and had almost forgotten it..real pitty.

is it just me or does it seem that the whole atmosphere of cod4 (i'm talking strictly multiplayer) is somewhat more...i don't know, dirtier, grittier? more realistic perhaps? could be just me though, but mw2 had this feeling of colourfull flashy arena-fighting like quake^^

i think he meant like in a sense of gunplay, who is better at pointing the loud end of a gun more directly over the enemy and hopping arround like a maniac bunny on bad crack better..

It is skillful, but the actual physical reflex and hand-eye skill needed to get kills in Halo is more demanding. I find COD a much easier game to play and get kills in anyway.

Funny enough that's exactly what I meant.

It might be just me, but hopping around like a frog on meth, spraying rockets until one of two combatants has to go get additional ammo, isn't my definition of 'skillfull'.

That being said, I find Cod4/6 (hardcore, mind) to be the most demanding game I have played so far (though admittedly I never tried out halo).

Sure, Activision sucks ass, so does the IW-net, but even though cod4 was a great multiplayer experience, many people tend to overlook the vast improvements cod 6 brought (among them, on the risk of blowing your mind, more balanced killstreaks). It's nowhere near a perfect game, but among the best online-fps experiences I had so far.
