That's... scary. Either for you or for me.

And damn it, all this talk about Modern Warfare 2 makes me miss the game. I might even consider buying it again!

STOP IT ALL!
Don't do it man... you know it'll only hurt you and make you unhappy!
Sounds like my ex-girlfriend.

[sub]ZING![/sub]

... Actually, that's not funny. I went back to her 3 times...

Why can't I ever meet nice girls?
If you can stop playing MW2 you can give up mean women. I know you can do it!

[small]I didn't meet one who was right for me till I was 27[/small]

How did I get on this thread? I was on a different thread and then... I just don't remember.

And I don't even play MW2... but maybe I should.

Although, I can't really afford to break a bunch of controllers.

I have a nice special edition MW2 controller. It has rubber edges.

Do you think they predicted it would get hurled around a lot?

Either that or they think people who play MW2 have sweaty hands.

Or perhaps both.

I hate sweaty hands while gaming... it's especially annoying when it's online and you can't pause it.

[small]did I say that out loud...? I really am a true nerd[/small]

It could be worse. You could have discussed your itchy ball-sack.

Or maybe that's better... more macho.

Actually someone did mention their itchy ballsack back near the beginning of the thread.

Yes, I noticed that. It's kind of hard to miss. The word ballsack just kind of jumps out at you.

But I have decided it isn't more macho to discuss itchy ballsacks. Just more revealing.

And a grippy controller won't help with that type of problem in any case. At least I should hope not.

Answers in bold.

1) I'm not so sure it encourages lone wolf style play, I think that's just how 99% of players choose to play it.
Possibly true, though the game design allows it in a way other games like TF2 and BC2 do not.

Yosharian said:
2) Nothing wrong with camping and/or K:D whoring.
...in Team Deathmatch. In objective games it ruins the entire game mode for the people who are actually trying to get the objectives and play it properly.

Yosharian said:
3) I've never had a problem with lag myself, I play on Xbox Live and its mostly lag-free. The host transfer tool is excellent.
Good for you, me and my buddies haven't been so lucky. Could be because we play from Ireland.

Yosharian said:
just hide in a building woop you can't do shit.
Since when is hiding in a damn building fun gameplay?

And more often than not in big maps you respawn outside

Yosharian said:
And I can't believe you're moaning about nukes, if you get nuked you deserve it
Goddamn I hate this attitude... you need to read the OP properly. I don't give a shit about the nuke in Team Deathmatch, but it's all too easy for people to go into Domination and get it by just going for kills. Any moron can pick off people trying to cap flags for an entire game.

And we both know that all they need is a 7 kill streak to set them up for that nuke.

Yosharian said:
There are a lot of problems with MW2 but none of the things you mentioned are those problems.
I think you're probably in the minority with that view.

This happens on ANYTHING. Even in real life. Have you ever had a customer threaten you while you're on shift for something so mild? People get pissed off at anything. Every MMO I've touched, all the shooters I've played online (Unreal Tournament, Halo, Killzone 2, MAG, COD all the way to MW2, BF:BC2 to name) and there's always one jackass who gets pissed off. They'll try to start shit and instantly associate you with something terrible.

"You are so bad at [blank] so you must be [gay/fat/homeless/retarded/poor/hadagayfatherandyourmomisreallyaguyinawig]."

While I respect the intricate explanation of the OP, this doesn't apply to MW2. It applies to anything where more than one human being interact with another human being in a scenario where one person can't punch another person in the face for being such a douchebag.

As an avid MW2 player, currently about to Prestige for the third time, with about 1600 games under my belt (1400 or so being Team Deathmatch) this is totally, and completely true.

The thing is, you play enough online multiplayer, you get used to it. I've had laggy teleports and shitty teammates in every multiplayer game I've played.

There is nothing more frustrating that calling in a hard-earned Harrier or Pave Low and seeing three Stingers streak towards the sky. At the same time there is nothing more satisfying than locking onto an enemy Harrier as it streaks into view and watching it explode without firing a shot.

I have a love-hate relationship with the game, but I'm still playing it. At least until Halo: Reach comes out.

True, but in gaming terms, MW2 seems to rile people up more than other games... in my experience.

Of course I've heard people rage on Halo, TF2 and the like but not nearly as often.

And speaking for myself, MW2 is the only game that ever gets me swearing and spitting bile.

Though I do it privately, not into a microphone because that's just obnoxious.

From playing with friends (the only people I leave unmuted save for one very amusing 13 yearold in third person cage match) I can attest to this.
I don't fall victim to it because I am really really bad at FPSes.
No, you don't get how bad I am. A 4 kill streak is a big deal to me.
So I'm just having dumb fun when playing online (IE, the guy from example number 1 who makes our hero rage, but with more tactics)
I'm good at the tactical aspect, I'm a sniper, I just get killed a ton looking for a sniping spot.
I picked the multiplayer up a few times recently after a month of playing FFXIII (And pausing before that for Uncharted 2) and still suck just as bad (I was ready to throw a party over an 11 kill streak, my best ever in any FPS online or even split screen) but still have fun.
And I think that's what people keep forgetting is the important thing here.

Actually, a great deal of my teenage years was spent accidentally sending Toad hurtling off the rainbow road!

So you were hyperbolizing about MW2 being the only game to make you swear? Cuz I can't even go a lap in Mario Kart Wii before being launched into a swearing frenzy online.
