Some of the stuff from Dead Space. The Regenerating boss fights scared the shit out of me when I realised I was trapped.

I've been playing The Pitt for Fallout 3 recently, and I'm quite creeped out by the trogs - the way they crawl around on all fours so silently, and they can jump at you from anywhere. I think some even spawn behind you in some parts. And they're so fast - by the time I hit the VATS button, they're all up in my grill.

For me it was the regenerators from RE4. The noise they make is otherworldy.

headcrabs *leap* *hit* *-5hp* WILL YOU STOP THAT! especially the fast ones they are too quick and they are basically useless in a grat horde of zombies

or in tf2 the scout (with the Sandman (STUN...) or the Force -a- Nature (kickback) or the bloody infulnarable drink BOINK) its frustrating

Their hardly disturbing, more like infuriating. Disturbing is when when you shoot the knees off a Regenerator from Resi 4 only to lunge at your face and molest your eyeballs.

in game land the only game that ever freaked me out was the fire ball throwing imp from doom after that i got too used to the stuff

I found the monks in RE4 terrifying, and also, those damn snakes...i'd just be going along, collecting herbs from boxes, then suddenly..-breaks box, snake jumps at my face- HOLY @%#$^@!!!!
...and the Regenerators/Iron Maidens did scare me for a while, until i found an easy way to beat them (since i never found that thermal thing)...all you had to do was shoot their legs out so that they fell, run over to them and continuously slash at their head with the knife...somehow, by means of a glitch or something, it would eventually (1-2 mins) pop all of the las plagas in it and kill it...

Serial Killer X from Condemned! Its nice to know somebody knows real horror! Okay, Pyramid head is freaky, but all the internet stuff kinda makes him jokey to me. Don't get me wrong, I think Silent Hill 2 is great (even though I never played it...) but SKX is homicidal maniac in league with a weird science cult making demonic darkness-cyborgs intent on making all of humanity insane. Those *chikkity* sound the Dark Creatures made was freaky. But SKX,
