Aaah yeah, i never thought much about the storytelling, but that concept was pretty smart.

I just completed Myst 3 again, so I'm going to say that the bad ending you can get,

where you trap Saavedro between the two shields and leave him to die,

made me feel more guilty than anything else I've ever played.

Final Fantasy IX. Both because of the music and what was happening in the ending. Just thinking about it makes me teary eyed.

Mass Effect 2. Knowing that it was YOUR mistakes that cost the lives of your team just makes it hit harder than if they were killed for some plot purpose.
These two. Garrus has always been my favorite character through Mass Effect 1 and 2. To see him
Get carried away by a Collector Swarm because I didn't finish Jack's loyalty mission
was a hard hitter. Vengeance was sweet, but disappointing at the same time. I almost killed the final boss with one shot of the M920-Cain. Finished it off with the Sniper rifle without ejecting a clip (about 6 shots).

Sad
Red Dead.. sad, but because the rest of the game was so 'tough' it made it worse.
I nearly cried at the ending to FFXIII. So beautiful.

Epic
Mass Effect 1 and 2 endings just filled me with pride at what I'd done.
Fable II had a pretty awesome ending (NOT the final fight, the choice and consequences).

Rage
Assassin's Creed II. What. The. Fuck.
Still gotta get Red Dead gaaaah.

And good point actually, the ending was DAMN pretty. God, the scene with coccoon is sososo (L). want a desktop background of it omg:(.

And yep, mass effects are just so sexy.
Fable II...hmm, been TIME since i played that. but the final fight... *rage!* it was so pathetic.

Assassins creed 2...yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahh i just ignore the whole story tbh:p maha

Well not exactly an ending to a game, but to one of its campaigns (hell, could well be a game's ending, so I'll go ahead and say it).
-snip-
This rogue and I killed this dude in 5 minutes...man they messed WoW a bit didn't they?

OT: I guess I would have to say the end of MW1 really stuck me. It was so...intense.

I know this has already been mentioned, but the most emotional video game ending for me was definitely Metal Gear Solid 3, hands down. I did not see that shit coming at all. It made me feel absolutely terrible (and I mean that in the best way possible).

Cliche as all hell by this point, I'm sure... but the End of Metal Gear Solid 4 made me bawl like a *****.
I just spent fifteen years of my life following the story of Big Boss and Snake, all the way from Metal Gear to MGS:4 and EVERY game in between (canon be damned).
The culmination of the story in the final Film was almost too much. Hideo Kojima did a fantastic job and I applauded the execution of his glorious franchise.
Agreed fully. Everything came full circle at the end after an incredible saga of games and conflict spanning around fifty years. I'll admit that I started crying well before the ending as I was thinking Snake would drop dead at any moment when the effects started to worsen.

Big Boss and Snake; both heroes in every sense of the world, as when Big Boss made his "exile" into Outer Haven, it showed how much he was sick of being used and betrayed by countries that wouldn't cast a second thought in sacrificing him for the bigger picture

THEY WERE SO SAD AT THE END:(:(:(.

Okay, so, have any of your guys gotten all sad at the end of a video game? :p
Right when I saw the title, "Crisis Core" came to mind... I didn't think FFX was near as bad...

The ending of Half Life 2 Episode 2(pity fo Alyx) is among the first to come to mind, but also up there are Red Dead Redemption(such a noble sacrifice), and Final Fantasy XIII(damn man its incredible) and though far les so than the prior 3. I was abit moved by the ending of Halo 3 after all John pretty much stops the covenant, the flood and the halo array from firing and instead of a heros welcome on Earth the last known spartan is left drifting through space in a cryo tube
