Most unfriendly online community

The Steam Forums. Half of the users on that thing are illiterate and the others are just complete assholes. There is maybe one sensible and well-thought out post for every 20 posts on that forum. Let me give you the rundown of the topics on the TF2 board.

I'm sure many people who use Steam are nice but the forums themselves are terrible. They see, to hate anyone with their brain in their head and not their arse.

I used to think WoWs community but that one comes off as a bunch of polite tea-sipping brits compared to the HoN community. Its the worst I have ever seen by far.

the p2p comunities. They are filled with people who refuse to read previous comments, thread titles or listen to any form of reason (they allso seem to have pretty bad english skills :s).

and so it continues with people explaining in detail how to unpack and use the files.


I can allso second youtube to be a god awful comunity. Nothing but flamers, spammers and 12 year old kiddies who find it fun to write offensive content everywhere.

I think it's a toss-up between Modern Warfare 2 and Counterstrike.

It's part of the reason why I tend to avoid playing shooters online, which in turn is probably the reason why i'm bad at playing shooters online. :/

Edit: I would have put WoW on this list, but I found from 5 years of playing that *freaking* game that bad people tended to get what was coming to them in the end, so everything balanced out even if there was always plenty more jerks to replace the guy who got taken care of.

I was on this small Finnish WoW fansite and it was the worst. If you were a new guy then everyone was on your case and there was always cussing at your direction.

There were plenty of jerks, but the mods also were fairly active to the point that threads that got really out of hand tended to get deleted very quickly. People can be jerks there, but obvious offensive material tends to attract mods. In short, the WoW forums is the playground of the passive-aggressive.

That's just my opinion though.

I played the game in middle school and watched as my friends slowly devolved into horrible RS trolls. That game turns children into jerks.

Unfriendlies:
Youtube. Nearly every comment is being flamed. But its not all bad when you keep comments of the "main stream" videos. I like to build electronics and (all) those videos are usually very pertinent what comes to comments and general attitude.

Fiendliest community:
I actually prefer not to join online communities. I really think internet-anonymity brings the worst out of people in general. I actually joined here because I have been following escapistststs for long time and here people don't take every comment as an offence. Also moderators actually ban sometimes for being a moron. So actually this is the friendliest that I have seen.

MW2 and DotA. You can meet so many dicks and idiots on these games.

In MW2 people are just generally douches, but in DotA, people scream at you for not helping them when they've tried to rambo someone and you're on the other side of the map. And they continue to whinge about it for ages. God I hate those jerks.

DotA or Heroes of Newerth. For a game with such a Learning curve for newbies, you'd think that the community would get used to helping them. Dead wrong. The forums are like 4chan v2, and every well written complaint or call for help is met with nothing but " FIRST" "Maybe you just suck. Uninstall?" and the like.

As for MW2, I played it on PC. It's alot more fun when you ignore absolutely everyone that you don't know
