The Dark Knight. I kid you not, all my friends hate it, with reasons varying from its too long and it ended five or six times, to it isn't very realistic and batman isn't that cool. With the bonus argument thrown in that Heath Ledgers performance wasn't deserving of an award because he was already crazy and so it didn't take any skill to play the Joker.

Transformers 2. It improves in every way upon the original, making it feel like a saturday sitting in front of the t.v. more then anything. It's not shakespeare, it's transformers.

Terminator: Salvation. The character of marcus write gave this movie some real depth and soul that the other parts and characters in the film lacked. It was a great movie, marred only by the fact that it was not T2.

Both those movies were great in their own right.

The Prestige. My friends didnt understand it.
To be fair, you're never told what period of time they're in and it can get hard to follow. It's not overly complicated other than that though.

OT: I really like Star Wars. In fact, I really like the Star Wars prequels the mostest out of all of them. And I think The Phantom Menace is good. In fact I'd go so far as to say it's -

*Slumps face first into desk*
Actually, in "The Prestige" you're fairly clearly told it's the turn of the twentieth century a couple times. You could also maybe get the hint from the references to Edison and Tesla.

I didn't like Phantom Menace on the first go around, but now that Darths and Droids has completely awesomized it I find it way better.

OT: I really like the movie "Ratatouille" and many people I know were pretty 'meh' about it.

biodome. but I could name alot more. My friends have Really shitty tastes in movies, and I have had the "well you gave fantastic four another chance" thing lashed at me again and again. I didn't like it! sure I liked the most retarded movie in history the epitome of dumb 90s "surfer dude" comedies (I didn't have to put dumb there) but I even know a guy who liked Jumper AND twilight. eeeeeehhhgghhh. I can't do this with people like this around me. Actually people know people who don't like pulp fiction, maybe it could be worse.
oh and I liked #24

Pulp Fiction.
So many of my friends hated that movie, but it's my favorite film ever.
No way! That's the best film ever.

On topic though;
the modern Planet of the Apes
Van Helsing
Spiderman 2.

I like a lot of old black and white movies that are fan-fucking-tastic, but a lot of people I know hate them because they either aren't smart enough to understand them or simply because they dislike black and white movies because they are old and therefore boring. Or, you know, they have terrible taste in cinema(and they do).
I can't stand most of them and older movies. I don't feel like a relate to them.

Dude...everyone LOVES Flying High/Airplane!

My vote is for Sahara, and to a lesser extent, Waterworld.
