And saying that my comment has no effect on the quality of these sound genres will not improve the quality of those genres either.
I completely agree with you, those genres are shit no matter how we address them verbally.
I am merely stating that your preferences in musical ventures do not heighten the worth of music you prefer. There are no winners or losers in sound organized to happen on a specific timescale. Quality is a shaky and irrelevant term when applied to music - I'm taking it to pure mechanics.

I don't actively hate any genre's ..but there are some I wouldn't willingly go searching for, namely: jazz, country, metal (including all its little compartments), christian rock, emo (and its variations) and anything my parents enjoyed is pretty much out of bounds.

R&B
I seriously can't stand it. It's the only type of music that makes me change the radio station.

I would have said Slipknot six months ago, but i was listening to them recently and I found them rather light.

I cant say rap, because I like Sage Francis and Jay-z.

AS for country, I dont like anyone in particular, but I think it can be pretty good. Is "tears in heaven" country? because I like that

Metal, well im listening to We Came As Romans right now and loving every second of it, so probably not

So im going to say Hipster music, whatever the fuck that is

Modern Pop: You know, Jonas Brothers, Justin Beiber, Hanna Montana, ect. WHY THE HELL DO THESE PEOPLE EVEN HAVE AN AUDIENCE?!?
My theory is its actually good and were just really out of touch. Anyway, its just the new backstreet boys, britney spears, spice girls etc. Except theyve fused into one person (The Jonas brothers were 3 different boy bands)

I consider hate to be when you can't listen to a genre without getting angry.
Since I like at least 1 song out of most genres, I can't say I really hate any genre

Anything that ends in core or has the word death in it, country, pop, and all of the new rap music that has been coming out the last few years.

A lot of people think that all rap is like that, and I used to think that, until my friend got me into Tupac, Rakim, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Biggie, NaS, etc. Mos Def is one of my favorites - great lyrics that aren't about whoring himself and bitches, plus unlike a lot of rap he plays quite a few instruments.
These are my personal favorites:

Lil Wayne is probably my most hated rapper, he can't even rhyme at all, and when I ask people what they like they either say his voice (which is a serious "What the fuck?" for me.) or the beats. Sorry to say that he takes no part in making the beats.

Haha, well, end rant.

Anything punk. Also, I'm not a huge fan of most things that rely too much on the lyrics and I really don't find growls nice to listen to.

Crabcore...
... Fuck's name was that?

Constructive criticism:

- Blend genres, do not toggle between (unless you're established as experimental or taking the piss)
- Do not do that teabag / squat-thrust thing on guitar - you look like a monkey.
- Longer hair for headbanging
- Bring a generator or extension cord if you're going to use amps and electronics in a grassy field. (thought you could slip that one by us, eh?)
- Ditch sour looking Marilyn Munroe and stick to the rural house.
- Actually, just... you're in a hole, stop digging.

---

Edit: looked up Crabcore... I suppose that explains the phantom teabagging, though explanations are not justifications.

Rap of any kind. Country of most kinds. Death Metal of any kind. Heavy Metal of most kinds. And some techno. That's a lot, but I'm more of a Jazz, Rock, and orchestral kind of person with a mix of Techno from time to time.

I guess the only genres of music I well and truly can't stand are modern Disney pop and "gangsta rappers" who rap about the stereotypical things - drugs, bitches, etc.

To be honest though, there's not much else I don't like. I enjoy some rap, country, jazz, folk, blues - pretty much most things really. Sure, there's always going to be stuff I dislike in each genre, but nothing that I out and out hate.

Metal and CMT style country. I like old country, though.

Whatever T-Pain is. Auto-Tune, I guess. I like a good bit of rap and hip-hop, but can't stand him or others like him.

I don't really hate any genre per se, because I can find enjoyable stuff in most genres. Even emo.

The ones I like the least are rap, any genre of metal that has a constipated vocalist or spazzes out on the bass drum, top 40 pop, and anyone who thinks being unable to play their instrument is somehow authentic or artistic (White Stripes, Dresden Dolls, any punk act who sounds like **** for the sake of sounding like ****).

A lot of people on here don't seem to be too down with rap. I can understand... most of it doesn't sit well with me and what I do enjoy makes me feel like twit listening to, being pale as a ghost. So, 50 Cent and Eminem are a no go, but I appreciate late 80's acts like NWA and Public Enemy for the same aggression and genuine grassroots passion that fueled early punk rock.

But pop rap, or pop-anything, isn't really a good reflection of what can be done with the genre. Here's a couple of hip hop (or glitch hop?) I enjoy:

I despise rap and hip-hop, alongside 99% of mainstream bands. They all sound the same to me.

Everyone I know says either "I hate rap" or "I hate country". I find it funny that some country sounds like rap with a steel-string guitar.

Myself, I can't stand any song I can't understand 80% of the lyrics without googling. (I'm looking at you, Kurt Cobain!)

I hate lots of obscure genres but the main ones are rap and crappy pop music.

Can't stand metal either but there are some slight exceptions.

See, that's the slippery bit. He says "pick a genre". Well, I might like some country, but that doesn't mean I like Toby Keith. Or I might like a lot of ska, but think the label bands are sell-outs. Coolio was okay, but most rap is too fast to catch the words, so what's the point? A lot of exceptions in there.

Screamy metal. Vocalists really make the songs for me, at least, most of the time, so having screamers really hurts my chances of liking it, as I don't like those type of vocalists.
