While I have heard many people say I'm wrong, I find Tool to have some really good songs - my favorite song of all time is without a doubt "Lateralus"

I actually found out about a cool new blues guy from watching Top Gear. Dude named Seasick Steve. He's awesome.

Music ain´t dead mate, it´s just that, well most people forgot what good music is, so it isn´t really in the mainstream. There are still good new musicians coming out, unless you like pop music and miss the days of good michael jackson and prince, in which case, i feel sorry for you, cause pop music really died. Got to admit personally I don't like them. Even though I like Led Zpeelin, the Foo Fighters and about two Queen of the Stone Age songs. I just think they don't mix well together, sounding like they all do their own thing but of course thats just my own opinion.

Try progressive rock. It's my favorite genre. Here are two artists to get you started:

The Moody Blues (Listen to the album "The Best of the Moody Blues)
The Alan Parson's Project (Listen to the album "Tales of Mystery and Imagination")

These are some of my current favourite bands and they're all proof that many different kinds of rock are thriving. Don't be ignorant and pessemistic
