We should find the author tie them to a poll and burn them. Then we chant that videogames don't make people violent and all the police will just laugh and laugh at the irony until they let us go. It's the perfect crime!

I don't think it makes sense to jump on the bandwagon for something that isn't even a direct quote yet, at least not without the title of the "textbook". After all, if you could quote from it, I'm pretty sure the name of the darn book would be pretty clear.

Why would I remember the title? I just remembered the relevant quote.

As you all say, things may look like I'm lying, I will bring the textbook to my house tomorrow.

Prove it

I highly doubt that this is true. You're either lying or you misread what the text book said.
I take we'll play the "pics or it didn't happen" card?

Just take a picture and upload. No scans needed. Take a pic of the cover and the quote and BAM, instant proof. But, if you really want, just do the publisher/name/page/exact quote.

School health classes are just worthless propaganda filled with lies. Don't get too worked up about it, though that statement's hypocritical since I'd get pretty pissed myself if that was in one of my health textbooks.

It's this kind of bullcrap (term my friends use a lot) that makes me think school health classes are a waste of time, money, and resources (well, that and that my experience with my health teacher gave me the ability to sympathize with brutal mass murderers). At least make it less bullshit advice (which is what the whole damn curriculum is) and more med school lite. At least that serves as career preparation, which is kind of the purpose of school.

Go to school and shoot your teacher in the face this is the only way to stop the madness and show the trueness of our plight. After you have rounded up some hostages strap them to an explosive device and climb the nearest clocktower to rain death down upon your town.

This clip should show what you hope to acheive.

make sure to make an exmple out of your hostages just to show how non violent games make you

Ah it's just people that can't mentally handle telling the difference between the games and real life that fuck up things for us gamers.

I'm sorry but I can't believe you just because of how wrong that is. I can't think of any place in the country that would actually put that in their health textbook. Where do you live?
New York, United States.
Yes, I got the sense to check your profile and saw. And as I said, that only confirms my belief that you can't be serious. New York of all places?

Please provide proof or I will have to declare you a troll.
You are aware that New York is majorly only liberal in the city, where the poorer people live.

That being said, I live in a conservative town.

All the aside, I'll bring home the book tomorrow.
Is there a scanner at your home/school? I'm sure we would all appreciate some scans.
For some reason my school doesn't block this site.

Though, will you guys be happy with the published and exact quote? I don't think my family will appreciate me scanning my book onto the Interwebs.
If the quote pops up in a Google search, word for word somewhere else with a book of the same name involved, then I will be somewhat satisfied. A scan would probably be simpler and more effective if you can manage it.

And I suppose I may as well comment on the whole New York issue. Hillary Clinton seemed to lay a lot of hate against video games when she was New York's senator. She was definitely one of the bigger crusaders. New York is not a stranger to paternalism in general from what I have seen.

EDIT: I wash my hands of every aspect of that YouTube page except the video content.

You know i once read this quote somewhere while doing a school report on this subject, "If we all did what happened in video games wed be sitting in a dark room popping pills and running away from ghosts" It made me laugh for a while. And honestly i think society is to scared to find the real cause is our goverment *trying to choke back conspiricy theories* but i know its not video games, criminals blame them to try to get less time.

Who said that video games make you violent? If they were here right now I would shoot them in the face. Oh, wait...

If you do bring proof then I will be happy to see it and I will apologize for calling you a troll. It's not something I like to do, just a conclusion I came to.

Actually, I lied. I will not be happy to see proof that this is true. Mostly because it's such a horrible thing. I know much of rural New York is conservative, but I live in the suburbs north of the city and it's all really liberal around here too. And New York is overall conservative what with voting and whatnot. But the whole are you live in must be really conservative too. Textbooks don't go by town, I don't know how widely they are used but it's gotta be a lot.

The reason I'm so pissed off about this is because of how wrong it is. I mean, first of all that's just a flat-out lie. There is little to no evidence to support it, most of it questionable. It has not been proven and does not belong in a textbook. Besides, that's just a horrible thing to say. It wrongly denounces a perfectly healthy and correct activity that millions of people enjoy with no problem. Whoever wrote that textbook obviously has a severe bias. This does not belong to be taught in schools any more than Nazi propaganda. And I am not exaggerating when I say that.

It's a crap textbook then. There's no proof or evidence, hence they shouldn't have put it in there. Does my Analysis textbook for Maths have theorems and lemmas that have no proof? No. Everything there is backed up. And so it should be the same in your health textbook. Your book is crap.

Check the author. If it's a certain J. Thompson, then chuck it in the bin. Actually, burn it first. Then throw it away. Then burn the bin. Then find the author, throw him in the bin, and burn him...
