Well with a Taser, you may or may not die, but in the vast majority of cases, you won't die. When an officer uses a Taser, it is usually his last option before his gun, take away the Taser and then the officer must go for his gun, I would rather be tasered then shot.
In this case, the officer could have just tackled him I guess.
Its amazing how outside of America, in the UK, the police manage to arrest unarmed suspects without a taser or fire arm. The argument the taser was the right option as otherwise theyd be forced to shoot him is BS. Americans are fire arms mad, I know, I lived in Texas.
As far as him deserving it and being no great loss, lets hope no escapists run into personal problems, mental health issues or a dependency problem. Statisticly a few of us already have or will. Its more common than you think. I just hope there are no heavy handed police there when you do.
It's amazing that you assume I am an American, I am Canadian. Don't make mistake that again please. The U.K is a different country with different rules, are you telling me that police armed with billy clubs are going to charge into a building wth drug lords that have fully automatic wepons? I don't think so.
We do have armed police, they are called out when the offender has a weapon, they are the only ones allowed to use tasers also. That is different from every officer carrying a fire arm.
At the opposite end of the spectrum you have a single naked unarmed suspect and hes killed with a weapon. Why does it have to be one size fits all? I was saying it was disproportional.
Im sorry I called you an American, most of the Canadians Ive met have been really nice (so are the Americans for that matter). I do know what you mean. The amount of Americans who refer to us as "Europeans" like its all one country, buy an atlas...
