Pffh. Did you see the Halo 4 Demo on G4? It bombed, the whole HUD glitched and paned to the left so the guy playing the live demo had to aim the reticle two inches from the enemy to the left just to get a shot.piinyouri said:Don't believe it. Not for a second.
It's E3, like the fellow above me said.
They do not let unscripted demos run.
You say that like every game isn't linear. How many games are open world RPGS like Fallout and Skyrim? Bioshock, MGS4, Halo, Gears etc.. are all linear yet heralded as some of the best of this gen.kman123 said:Sure it wasn't scripted.
Doesn't stop it from being incredibly linear though.

Hey, books are pretty linear and no-one complains about them.kman123 said:Sure it wasn't scripted.

There's linear and then there's "incredibly linear". Deus Ex is linear, Dragon Age is linear, but they both have divergent paths and the players can choose the way they go through that linear terrain. This game, however, seems to be one long hallway. But that's judging the whole game by a few minutes of gameplay, so not exactly fair.IamSofaKingRaw said:You say that like every game isn't linear. Nope, but putting all the bits other games did right to a big puzzle that does everything right for a change could be considered an achievement in itself. Not saying this game does it, but that's my general outlook.poiumty said:I honestly can't see the appeal in general. It's an I Am Legend game where you drag a little girl around with you as you scavenge for loot. It's not like we haven't seen that before.
That hallway where he kills the first guy. Right as Joel jumps through the window you can see at the far end of the hall what appears to be a divergent pathway. But even if it was one long hallway, if the AI is legit then that pretty much redefines the genre so I think we could all find it in our hearts to forgive the linearity. There's linear and then there's "incredibly linear". Also, even if it was, I wouldn't say it hurts this kind of game. It suits it more or less just fine.
